CFL Preseason Schedule: Games on TV Today, Hamilton vs Toronto, Montreal vs Ottawa, Winnipeg vs Saskatchewan, BC vs Edmonton (Friday, May 30, 2025)

As we approach Week 3 of the Canadian Football League’s 2025 preseason, Friday’s line-up features four games on the schedule. Teams will make final roster decisions by 10:00 p.m. local time on Saturday. This is the final week of the Canadian Football League preseason.

CFL Games Today

For those wondering, “What football games are on today?”, here’s your answer to CFL games on today:

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts

Location: Alumni Stadium, Guelph
Game Date: Friday, May 30
Time: 7:00 p.m. EDT
Streaming: CFL+

Hamilton will showcase receiver Isaiah Wooden, who established himself as the front-runner for return duties. Wooden ran a 4.38 forty-yard dash at his 2024 pro day and spent time with the B.C. Lions last season. Defensive end Philip Ossai brings 4.7 speed and recorded strong numbers at North Alabama.

Toronto features quarterback Tucker Horn, who threw for 172 yards and one touchdown in his CFL debut last week. The Trinity University product posted a 6:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio in college. Receiver Shane Hooks caught three passes for 48 yards in the preseason opener after failing to make Edmonton’s roster last year.

Montreal Alouettes at Ottawa Redblacks

Location: TD Place Stadium, Ottawa
Game Date: Friday, May 30
Time: 7:00 p.m. EDT

Montreal will start veteran quarterback Caleb Evans, who returns from a season-ending knee injury suffered in 2024. Evans has thrown for 3,460 yards and 16 touchdowns in 52 career games while adding 943 rushing yards and 31 rushing scores. Canadian quarterback Jonathan Sénécal, the 2023 Hec Crighton Trophy winner, will also see action.

Ottawa receiver Sam Schnee caught four passes for 54 yards and one touchdown in the preseason opener. The Northern Iowa product earned All-American honors in his senior season. Defensive back Shakur Brown recorded two defensive tackles and two special teams tackles last week after unsuccessful stints with Hamilton and the NFL.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Saskatchewan Roughriders

Location: Mosaic Stadium, Regina

Time: 9:00 p.m. EDT

Winnipeg receiver Dalton Schoen will play his first game since suffering a torn ACL in Week 3 of last season. The 28-year-old made 151 catches for 2,663 yards and 26 touchdowns over his first two CFL seasons, earning back-to-back All-CFL selections. Chris Streveler will start at quarterback ahead of Zach Collaros.

Saskatchewan named Jake Maier the starting quarterback for the finale. Maier completed eight of 13 passes for 80 yards and one interception in the preseason opener. The former Calgary Stampeder has appeared in 66 career CFL games, throwing for 11,685 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 39 interceptions.

B.C. Lions at Edmonton Elks

Location: Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton
Game Date: Friday, May 30
Time: 9:30 p.m. EDT
Streaming: CFL+

B.C. will start Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke for the second time this preseason, though most offensive starters will not play. Receivers Justin McInnis, Keon Hatcher, and Ayden Eberhardt will not dress, leaving Stanley Berryhill and Jevon Cottoy as the primary targets.

Edmonton will debut eight free-agent acquisitions, including safety Royce Metchie, cornerback Tyrell Ford, and receivers Steven Dunbar Jr. and Kaion Julien-Grant. Canadian quarterback Tre Ford will lead the Elks’ offense in the final preseason game.

Final Roster Cuts

All nine CFL teams must submit final rosters by 10:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 31. Friday’s games serve as the final audition for players fighting for roster spots.

Quarterback Battles

Several teams are using the preseason finale to evaluate backup quarterback options. Montreal’s Caleb Evans returns from injury while Toronto’s Tucker Horn has impressed coaches with his decision-making.

Return Specialists

Hamilton’s Isaiah Wooden and several other players are competing for return duties across the league. Special teams performance often determines final roster spots for bubble players.

Canadian Content
