Zach Collaros’ Return: Are Bombers Ready for His Comeback?

After missing the last 2 games and being pulled out the Banjo Bowl, with what was a head injury, it looks like Collaros might start this week for Winnipeg.

While the speculation of Collaros’ return was rampant, Bomber fans are sure to have mixed emotions with the potential return of Collaros. Some, will say that he should never step on the field again. Others will be happy to see him back as Streveler only went 1-1 in those two games. And let us be honest, one of those games Streveler started was an absolute disaster. And the other start? Well, it took events of biblical proportions for the Bombers to win – and that is just not sustainable.

Maybe you are not sure what you think about the potential return of Collaros. I think Milt Stegall and Davis Sanchez provide different , yet compelling arguments.

I would suggest that every indication is that Zach Collaros is planning to start on Saturday vs. Hamilton. As we have already seen this year, these types of concussion injuries can have lingering effect – which pulled Zach out of a game earlier this year. So, while I expect Zach to start, the question might be, ‘Will he finish the game?’ With regards to that question, I feel like I am coming up short…I just do not know.

What I am still very much a firm believer of is this; the Bombers need to find a capable back up quarterback that can win them games in a row. I would not expect the messaging to be different from the Bombers, but what the Bombers say and what the Bombers do are hopefully two different things.
