It seems crazy to even be mentioning that Winnipeg could end up 2nd in the West and host the Western Semi-Finals with the inconsistent year they are having. But at 7-7, and currently sitting in 4th place that is exactly the spot the Bombers find themselves in.

Even though Winnipeg has the same number of wins as the Lions, they are behind the Lions as the Lions beat Winnipeg earlier this season. But there are still a lot of interdivision games that have to be played in the West.
West vs West Remaining Games
Week 17
Saskatchewan at BC
Week 18
Calgary at Saskatchewan
Week 19
Calgary at Winnipeg
Week 20
Winnipeg at Edmonton
BC at Calgary
Week 21
Winnipeg at BC
Edmonton at Saskatchewan.
Season Series
Winnipeg already holds the season series over Saskatchewan. So if they end the regular season with the same amount of wins, Winnipeg would finish higher in the standings that Saskatchewan.
In Week 1 Winnipeg beat Calgary 30-28. But in Week 8 Calgary laid a smackdown, beating Winnipeg by a score of 52-30. That means that Winnipeg would need to score 22 more points against Calgary in Week 19 to have the season series over them. That is going to be tough for Winnipeg as they do not put up that many points.
In terms of getting the season series over BC that will be a little bit easier. Sure, first Winnipeg has to actually beat BC in Week 21 for any of that to matter. Looking back to Week 9, BC beat Winnipeg 35-19. That means that in Week 21 Winnipeg would need to beat BC by more than 16 points to win the season series.
West vs East Games
Not only will the West vs West games have a say in the Bombers' standings, but so will the West vs East games.
Week 16
Edmonton at Toronto
Ottawa at Calgary (Ottawa has already been eliminated from the 2026 CFL playoffs).
Week 17
Toronto at Winnipeg
Calgary at Ottawa
Hamilton at Edmonton
Week 18
BC at Toronto
Winnipeg at Montreal
Week 19
Edmonton at Hamilton
Ottawa at BC
Saskatchewan at Montreal
Week 20
Montreal at Saskatchewan
Crossover in Play
There is also the possibility that Winnipeg (Calgary, or BC) crossover, as they all currently have better records than the 3rd place team in the East.

However, what we also know is that there is no way that all 5 teams in the West makes the playoffs, so someone is going to miss out...even with a crossover.
Final Thoughts
The remaining games for Winnipeg are:
Toronto at Winnipeg
Winnipeg at Montreal
Calgary at Winnipeg
Winnipeg at Edmonton
Winnipeg at BC
With all the games still to play in the 2026 CFL season, I could see the Bombers finishing the regular season anywhere from 2nd to 5th place.
What games do you think will be more important in determining the Bombers standings; their own last 5 games, other West vs West games, or other West vs East?
