BC, Saskatchewan, and Winnipeg were on a bye this week.

It was a good team performance by Montreal.

2 – Edmonton Elks
Record: 10-4
Previous ranking: 1
Edmonton was looking to extend their 4-game winning streak when they arrived in Toronto.
This game had all the makings of a high-tempo football game.
Edmonton experienced one of the most lopsided times of possession in their favour, having the ball for 38:45.
Unfortunately, Edmonton only scored once while in the red zone on six attempts. Turnovers at the wrong time ultimately hurt Edmonton’s chances from a potential comeback.
It was a game Edmonton wished they could take back, as it was a missed opportunity for a win.
Next game: Saturday, September 26th, 2026, vs. Hamilton.
3 – BC Lions
Record: 7-6
Previous ranking: 3
After much-needed rest in Week 16, BC is focusing on continuing a great run.
It's been a fun time for fans coast to coast to witness this.
Next game: Friday, September 25th, 2026, vs. Saskatchewan.
Record: 8-5
Previous ranking: 4
It’s good to experience a week off. With the grind of a football season, Saskatchewan made the most of the chance to focus on BC.
The West Division as a whole will be the most intense and entertaining football in the last 5 weeks to see who will come out on top for the remaining available playoff seeds.
This Friday, BC vs. Saskatchewan fits this mould.
Next game: Friday, September 25th, 2026, in BC.
Record: 7-6
Previous ranking: 5
With Week 16 off, Winnipeg will turn their undivided attention towards the Double Blue.
History has shown that during the last six seasons, the Blue Bombers have faced many obstacles and succeeded.
Next game: Friday, September 25th, 2026, vs. Toronto.
Record: 8-6
Previous ranking: 6
Offence wins football games, while defence wins you championships. At least what is said in football.
Facing a well-polished Edmonton team, Toronto wanted to exact revenge on the Elks from a 42-12 blow-out loss in Edmonton in Week 11.
Toronto did not run the ball effectively (– 1 yard rushing). Although the passing game worked, the Toronto offence was unable to create long drives, with only 21:15 in time of possession, putting stress on the Argos defence.
It was the Argos defence that had to play bend but don’t break.
At the end of the day, a win is still a win.
Next game: Friday, September 25th, 2026, in Winnipeg.
Record: 6-8
Previous ranking: 7
It was a scary moment for Calgary with a walk-off field goal by Rene Paredes to seal the victory. It would have gone beyond losing to Ottawa. Losing this game would have been a big setback to fight for a cross-over playoff spot.
At the end of the day, Calgary now turns their attention towards a back-to-back game with Ottawa.
Next game: Saturday, September 26th, 2026, in Ottawa.
Record: 4-10
Previous ranking: 8
It's difficult to stay motivated if you’re a Hamilton fan when your QB1, Bo Levi Mitchell, is not present.
Harrison Frost experienced another rough outing. This time it was vs. Montreal, as he went 33-for-50, 333 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions.
The loss puts Hamilton in dire need to play for pride down the stretch of scheduled games.
Next game: Saturday, September 26th, 2026, in Edmonton.
9 - Ottawa Redblacks
Record: 0-13
Previous ranking: 9
McLeod Bethel-Thompson did all he could have done with 379 passing yards, 5 touchdown passes, and 1 interception.
It was a good effort for Ottawa. In the last two weeks, they have shown a lot of pride in not giving up.
When you play a game with a combined 924 yards in net offence, whoever has the last possession will win the game.
If the effort for Ottawa remains for the duration of the season, there is a good chance they will break their 0-13 curse.
Next game: Saturday, September 26th, 2026, vs. Calgary.
