BC Lions Sign QB Jarrett Doege and DT T.J. Burke

The BC Lions announced the signing of quarterback Jarrett Doge and defensive lineman T.J. Burke on Friday. The Lions also announced the placement of defensive tackle Tomasi Laulile on the 6-game injured list, as well as the release of wide receiver Bryan Thompson.

QB Jarrett Doge - Troy (6’1, 210 lbs)

Jarrett Doege brings 3 years of CFL experience that began in Edmonton, where he played in 2023 and 2024. He dressed in 20 games with 1 start over that span, completing 43 of his 68 passes for 593 yards and 4 touchdowns with 4 interceptions.

He played for the Toronto Argonauts last season, where he dressed in every game and had 3 starts. He completed 97 of his 142 passes (68.3%) for 905 yards and 4 touchdowns with 7 interceptions last season and 1 rushing touchdown.

Doege began his collegiate career with Bowling Green, where he appeared in 19 games with 16 starts from 2017-18, completing 361 of 576 attempts for 4,041 yards and 39 touchdowns with 15 interceptions. He transferred to West Virginia ahead of the 2019 season and started 26 of his 27 games over three years, throwing for 6,453 yards and 40 touchdowns with 19 interceptions while completing 64.8% of his passes. Doege wrapped up his collegiate career at Troy in 2022, appearing in seven games with two starts and posting a 67.7% completion rate for 575 yards and five touchdowns with 3 interceptions.

DT T.J. Burke - Lehigh University (6’2, 305 lbs)

T.J. Burke appeared in 47 games with 36 starts from 2022 through 2025 with Lehigh University, where he started in each of his games over his last 3 seasons. He recorded 51 solo tackles, 62 assisted tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks over his NCAA career.

T.J. Burke earned All-America honors from the Associated Press (Honorable Mention) and FCS Central (Third Team) in his final season with Lehigh University in 2025. He was named First-Team all-Patriot League in 2024 and 2025.
