Bombers Still Looking For Win #1: Winnipeg vs. Ottawa

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are in unfamiliar territory at 0-4 so far this season. Last year the Bombers only lost 4 games in total. In the previous three season the Bombers only had 3 losses each season.

Yet, somehow Head Coach Mike O’Shea does not seem fazed. In fact, he looks like a guy that knows something we do not know…like some replacements coming in. So I keep checking the Bombers’ social accounts but have yet to see any news.

The last time the Bombers played Ottawa it was a close game, made longer by a rain delay that almost ended the game. Try as they might, the Bombers were not able to come back.

The biggest question for the Bombers will be, “Is Zach ready to go?” With the next practice being closed to reporters, Ottawa will have to wait for the Bombers to release their depth chart to find out.

While Streveler did have some good plays, and was the first Bomber quarterback to throw a touchdown in 2024, is is able to win a game from start to finish? His 3rd quarter was terrible in the last game, but the Bombers were still close to sending it to overtime.

Talking about overtime, the Bombers went their with Calgary, only to throw an interception and see Paredes with a 52 yard walk-off field goal.

Which leads us to another question; what is going on with Oliveira? Why was he not fed the ball in overtime?

He sure is not ripping it up! Are teams ‘stacking the box’ forcing Winnipeg to be a throwing team? If so, did teams not do that the past 4 seasons?

One thing is for sure, if the Bombers want to find win #1 they will have to throw and run the ball better.

Does the run game open up the throwing game; or does the throwing game open the run game? Regardless of which comes fist; right now neither the run nor the throwing game are working.

What’s going on with the Bombers?

You are correct. The other teams have adjusted We lost good players to free agency because we are paying a few a lot of money. Maybe the offensive coach should be replaced.
