The Arizona Cardinals have drafted Canadian offensive tackle Isaiah Adams in the third round of the NFL Draft 71st overall Friday night. Adams was the top-ranked prospect eligible for the 2024 CFL Draft by CFL Central Scouting in their most recent rankings.
Adams started in 25 games for Illinois over the last 2 seasons. He demonstrated his versatility by starting at both guard and tackle. In 2022 he started in 12 games at left guard and 1 at left tackle. In 2023 he started 10 games at right tackle and 2 at left guard.
Adams was recognized for his quality play in 2023 being named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention as well as being Academic-All-Big Ten. In 2022 he was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
Prior to playing for Illinois, he played for Garden City Community College in 2021 and Wilfred Laurier University in U Sports in 2019.
At the NFL Combine, he ran a 5.22-second 40-yard dash, a 7.77-second 3-cone drill, and a 4.73-second shuttle. He performed 22 reps on the bench (225 lbs), an 8’6” broad jump, and a 24.5-inch vertical.
Adams measures 6’5, 303 pounds, and is 23 years old. He was the 18th-ranked offensive tackle on Pro Football Focus’s 2024 NFL Draft Prospects board.
