According to TSN’s Dave Naylor, the CFL has told teams that they are not to sign former Edmonton Elks OL Jacob Ruby.
Ruby was released by the Elks on Monday, after allegedly breaking COVID-19 protocols without intent, by misrepresenting his vaccination status.. This is believed to have started the breakout of cases within the locker room.
“The move is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to strictly following the CFL’s COVID protocols, which are in place to ensure the health and safety of all Tier 1 members and anyone they come in contact with.”
The former University of Richmond Spider was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the first round of the 2015 CFL Draft. Ruby signed with the Elks in 2017, and had remained with the team until his release.
