Edmonton Elks to Stand With Ukraine

On Friday, June 3rd, 2022 the Edmonton Elks to stand with Ukraine for their pre-season game vs the Calgary Stampeders.  Proceeds from the game will go to go directly to resettling Ukrainians resettle on Alberta.


Highlights of This Event


While the Elks will be wearing their familiar Green and Gold on the field, the event will have a distinctly blue and gold feel around the stadium, with a showcase of Ukrainian culture. Some of the highlights include: Ukrainian national anthem to be performed by the Viter Ukrainian Folk Choir. Performance by more than 200 Ukrainian bilingual program students from Edmonton and area. Edmonton’s Ukrainian Shumka Dancers perform their Classic Hopak at halftime.

Dino Sepe has been an avid sports fan since he was nine years old. He has read multiple books regarding sports history from various eras, the origins of the game, great dynasties, great coaches, and great players. Dino's experience with writing was obtained at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, through the Theatre Performance program. As an avid football fan following the NFL, CFL, NCAA, and USports Football, Dino has been writing about the Canadian Football League in various capacities since 2019.
