Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sign Running Back Trey Ragas And Release Wide Receiver Brennan Eagles

As the start of the 2023 training camp looms, the Tiger-Cats continue to sign elite talent to improve their depth for their offensive position groups. Hamilton has signed running back Trey Ragas; Ragas had a successful career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the Sun Belt conference and brought NFL and USFL football experience to Hamilton.

Trey Ragas is a 5’10”, 230-pound running back from New Orleans, Louisiana. Ragas played college football at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for four years, from 2017 until 2020. During his career with the Ragin’ Cajuns, he had 596 rushing attempts for 3.572 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also had 49 receptions for 427 yards and a touchdown. In 2020, he was selected 2nd team All-Sun Belt after being selected 3rd team All-Sun Belt during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons.

Ragas spent time on the Los Angeles Rams practice squad in 2022. In 2021, the Las Vegas Raiders signed Ragas, and he had the opportunity to play in one game. During that game, he had one rushing attempt for nine yards and two receptions for six yards.

Along with adding players at the running back position, Hamilton continues to evaluate the players at the wide receiver position. Earlier this week, Hamilton decided to release American wide receiver Bralon Addison, and today they released another American receiver, Brennan Eagles.

The Tiger-Cats signed American wide receiver Brennan Eagles on March 23rd, 2023. The 6’4′, 229-pound wide receiver from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been released by Hamilton. Eagles spent time with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL in 2022.
