The Torquay, Victoria, Australia native comes to Riderville after spending three seasons at Ouachita Baptist University, a Division II program located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The five-foot-eleven, 210-pound punter booted a football 76 times, earning 3,397 yards, punting for an average of 44.7 yards per kick. The Australian launched 26 punts for over 50 yards with a career-long of 63 yards. He also landed 30 punts inside the 20-yard line.

In 2022, Couch was named to the D2CCA All-American Second Team, the D2CCA All-Region First Team, and the All-Great American Conference First Team. In 2023, the Aussie earned Second Team All-Great American Conference honours, while earning an invitation to the  College Gridiron Showcase.

p>Interestingly, before attending Ouachita Baptist, Couch played Australian rules football for Geelong College in Australia. He will have stiff competition for a roster spot, however, as the Roughriders 2023 first-round pick in the Global draft Adam Korsak is coming off of a phenomenal rookie season where he led the CFL in yards per punt (47.9), posting the second-best single-season average in Roughriders history.
