Toronto is 1-1 ATS with both games going over this season. Saskatchewan is a perfect 2-0 ATS and also 2-0 on the over — the total of 55 could be in play again given both teams' recent offensive output.

Overview

Toronto bounced back in Week 3 with a convincing 44-24 win over the Ottawa Redblacks after dropping their opener 37-30 to Montreal. At 1-1, the Argonauts sit fifth in the overall CFL Standings, but a road win on Friday would push them above .500 and right into the thick of the East Division race. Saskatchewan, meanwhile, is the only West team with a perfect record and is coming off a dramatic 40-37 win over the Calgary Stampeders last week. The Roughriders have won both games at Mosaic Stadium this year and clearly feel at home in Regina early in the 2026 season.

The biggest storyline for Toronto is the status of leading receiver Kevin Mital. The Argonauts' top pass-catcher — 15 receptions for 287 yards and a touchdown through two games — is listed as Available after a calf injury limited him in practice this week. He returned to full participation on Wednesday, which is encouraging, but this is a situation to monitor at kickoff. If Mital is limited or pulled early, Chad Kelly will need other options to step up against a Saskatchewan secondary that just held Calgary's offence to 37 points in a high-scoring shootout. On the other side, Saskatchewan gets a boost at corner with Seyi Oladipo Jr. activated from the practice roster, partially offsetting the loss of Juwuane Hughes (DB, six-game injury) and Rolan Milligan (DB, six-game injury) — two significant hits to their defensive backfield depth.

The line is slim at Saskatchewan -3, which reflects just how live Toronto is in this game. Kelly has been sharp this season — 869 yards and 7 touchdowns in two games — but his five interceptions are a real concern against a Roughriders defence that's surrendered points but also forced turnovers. Trevor Harris, for his part, has been nearly flawless: 53-of-72, 766 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Saskatchewan has the home edge, the hot quarterback, and the better early-season record. But Toronto's defence — led by Benjie Franklin and James Ceasar in the secondary and Isaac Darkangelo at linebacker — has the talent to make things uncomfortable for Harris. This one has the makings of a tight, high-scoring Friday night game.

Key Players

  • Chad Kelly (Toronto Argonauts, QB) — 53-of-78 for 869 yards, 7 TDs and 5 INTs on the season; the arm talent is undeniable but ball security against this Saskatchewan defence will be everything Friday night.
  • Kevin Mital (Toronto Argonauts, WR) — Toronto's leading receiver with 15 catches for 287 yards and a TD; listed Available after a calf injury, and his impact on the Argonauts' offence cannot be overstated.
  • Trevor Harris (Saskatchewan Roughriders, QB) — 53-of-72 for 766 yards, 6 TDs and zero interceptions; Harris has been the most efficient quarterback in the CFL this season and is a nightmare to pressure.
  • Kian Schaffer-Baker (Saskatchewan Roughriders, WR) — 19 receptions for 295 yards and 2 TDs; the Roughriders' top receiver is a matchup problem for any secondary in the league.
  • A.J. Ouellette (Saskatchewan Roughriders, RB) — 33 carries for 153 yards; the ground game keeps the chains moving and keeps Harris in manageable down-and-distances.
  • Jameer Thurman (Saskatchewan Roughriders, LB) — Saskatchewan's leading tackler anchors a defence that has been stout enough to win two straight at home.
  • James Vaughters (Saskatchewan Roughriders, DE) — Saskatchewan's sack leader; if he can get to Kelly early and rattle the veteran quarterback into bad decisions, the Roughriders win easily.

Keys to the Game

  • Kelly must protect the football. Five interceptions in two games is unsustainable on the road against a 2-0 team — one careless throw in Saskatchewan territory could swing the game before halftime.
  • Toronto needs Mital healthy and active. If the Argonauts' leading receiver is limited by his calf injury, the passing game loses its most reliable safety valve and defences can key on everyone else.
  • The Toronto defence must pressure Harris. Harris hasn't thrown a pick all season and doesn't beat himself — if the Argonauts' front four can't get home and force some uncomfortable throws, this becomes a very long night for the defence.

Score Prediction

Saskatchewan Roughriders 30, Toronto Argonauts 25. The market-implied score sits at Saskatchewan 29, Toronto 26 — and that feels about right. Harris' clean play and home-field advantage give the Roughriders the edge, but Kelly and the Argonauts have enough firepower to keep this close. If Mital is fully available, Toronto covers. If he's limited, the Riders pull away. Taking Saskatchewan by five — a competitive, hard-fought road loss that still keeps the Argonauts in the East Division hunt.
