CFL News Hub Mobile App Privacy Policy
Applies to the CFL News Hub apps for Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store).
Effective Date: May 4, 2026
1. Who We Are
The CFL News Hub mobile app is published by Pulse AI Solutions Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Maryland corporation. We are the data controller for personal information processed through the app. This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices you have.
This mobile-app policy works alongside our general Privacy Policy. If anything in the two policies conflicts, this mobile-app policy controls for app users.
2. Data We Collect
We only collect what we need to operate the app and provide the features you use. We do not sell your personal information.
Account Information
If you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address, display name, and (for password sign-in) a hashed password. If you sign in with a third-party identity provider (e.g. Google, Apple), we receive your email and a unique identifier from that provider — we never receive your password.
Device & Push-Notification Data
When you allow push notifications, our notification provider (OneSignal) issues an anonymous device-level push token and collects basic device info (device model, operating system version, language, time zone, app version, and a randomly generated installation ID). This is used to deliver notifications you opt in to. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.
Usage & Diagnostic Data
We collect non-identifying usage data — screens viewed, features used, crash reports, and performance metrics — so we can fix bugs and improve the app. This data is aggregated and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
User-Generated Content
Comments, forum posts, chat messages, and reactions you submit are stored on our servers and may be visible to other users under your display name. Email addresses are never displayed publicly.
AI Chatbot Prompts (Pro feature)
If you use the in-app AI chatbot, the prompts you submit and the responses returned are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate replies, and a copy is stored in your account so you can review past conversations. Prompts are not used to train AI models.
Subscription & Payment Data (Pro feature)
If you subscribe to CFL News Hub Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We retain a Stripe customer ID, your subscription tier, plan type (monthly/annual), and subscription status. On iOS, in-app purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms; on Android, by Google Play under Google's privacy terms.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise device location (the app does not request it)
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- SMS messages, call logs, or browsing history
- Health, financial, or biometric data
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and authenticate sign-in
- To deliver push notifications you opt in to
- To display your comments, posts, and chat messages to other users under your display name
- To process subscription payments and manage Pro entitlements
- To generate AI chatbot responses for Pro subscribers and enforce the daily usage limit
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and measure app performance
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The app uses a small number of third-party services to operate. Each is bound by its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Authentication | Email, provider user ID |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Device push token, OS, language, app version, anonymous installation ID, notification tags (e.g. favorite team) |
| Stripe | Subscription payments | Email, payment method (handled directly by Stripe), billing country |
| Anthropic | AI chatbot | Chat prompts and responses (not used for model training) |
| Google Play Services / Apple App Store | App distribution, in-app purchases, crash reporting | Handled directly by Google or Apple under their privacy policies |
| Microsoft Azure | Hosting, database, file storage | All app data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the United States |
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. The mobile app does not display third-party programmatic advertising. We do not engage in cross-app tracking and the app is not part of the Apple App Tracking Transparency framework — meaning you will not see an “Allow tracking” prompt because we do not track you across other apps or websites.
5. Push Notifications
Notifications are off by default. The app asks permission once, and you can change your choice anytime in your device's Settings under Notifications > CFL News Hub. Within the app, you can also choose categories of notifications (breaking news, specific teams, game starts, etc.). Disabling notifications stops delivery and the device push token is invalidated.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active.
- Comments, forum posts, and chat messages remain published until you (or we) remove them, even after account deletion (in which case they are anonymized).
- Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days.
- Subscription records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
- Push tokens are deleted shortly after you uninstall the app or revoke notification permission.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information from your profile screen
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export a copy of your data on request
- Opt out of newsletters from the unsubscribe link in any email
- Disable push notifications from your device settings at any time
- Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Canada (PIPEDA) have additional rights described in our main Privacy Policy. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in section 13.
8. Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your account, and all associated personal data, at any time. This satisfies Google Play's and Apple's in-app account deletion requirements.
From inside the app: open Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Your account, profile, push subscription, and AI chat history are deleted immediately. Public comments and forum posts are anonymized so existing discussion threads remain readable.
By email: if you cannot access your account, send a deletion request to privacy@cflnewshub.com from the email address on the account. We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Some records may be retained after deletion where we are legally required to keep them (for example, payment receipts for tax purposes). These records are isolated from active user systems and are not used for any other purpose.
9. Children's Privacy
The CFL News Hub app is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area / United Kingdom), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below those ages. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. The app is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families program.
10. Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Authentication uses signed JWT tokens with a 24-hour expiry. Access to backend systems is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
11. International Data Transfers
CFL News Hub is operated from the United States, and your data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the United States. If you access the app from outside the U.S., you understand and agree that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required (e.g. for users in the EEA/UK), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our service providers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the app after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
