Alberta is the newest online casino market in Canada, and it opened just in time for a big football fall. Private brands went live on 13 July 2026, and on 15 November Calgary hosts the 113th Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium. For Elks and Stampeders fans, that means more casino apps on their phones than Albertans have ever had.
We went through the Alberta iGaming Corporation's directory and picked five online casinos for Edmonton, Calgary and everywhere in between. Each one earns its spot on a different down: the CFL's own partner, the biggest brand family, the Crown site, the quickest payouts and the deepest jackpots.

Alberta Online Casino Reviews
Every private brand here is listed on the Alberta iGaming Corporation directory of registered sites. PlayAlberta is the provincial platform run under Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis.
theScore: Best Alberta Online Casino for Elks and Stamps Fans
Alberta · OntariotheScore is the CFL's official sports betting and online casino partner in Alberta, and it showed up on day one. PENN Entertainment launched theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino in the province on 13 July 2026, together with two casino-only apps, theScore Casino and Hollywood Casino. All three appear in the provincial directory.
That gives you a choice of front door: the combined app if you want to bet the Stamps and play a few slots in one wallet, or a casino-only app if football is just the background noise. On Interac, theScore runs a 24-hour review on every withdrawal and then pays within an hour with Autodeposit, with no withdrawal fees.
Pros
- Official CFL online casino partner in Alberta
- Three apps on the provincial directory
- No withdrawal fees
Cons
- Every withdrawal waits for a 24-hour review
- Separate account from theScore's Ontario site

Caesars: Most Casino Apps on One Alberta Account
Alberta · OntarioCaesars runs three Alberta products under American Wagering, Inc.: Caesars Palace Online Casino, Horseshoe Casino and Caesars Sportsbook. Caesars Palace is the premium slots and live dealer lobby, Horseshoe is a simpler casino-first app, and the sportsbook covers the betting side.
The Alberta offer terms are published on Caesars' own page, which is rare. The Caesars Palace offer needs a $10 minimum deposit, and you must wager 15 times the deposit on slots within seven days. Horseshoe uses bonus spins with a 1x playthrough on spin winnings. One flag for younger fans: Caesars applies its own 21+ rule in Alberta, even though the legal age is 18.
Pros
- Three apps on one account
- Offer terms published openly
- Strong live dealer lobby at Caesars Palace
Cons
- 21+ house rule in Alberta

PlayAlberta: Best Crown Online Casino in Alberta
AlbertaPlayAlberta had the province to itself for years, and it is still the account many Albertans use for their lottery tickets. Slots, virtual table games, live dealer tables, instant scratch games and sports betting all sit next to the lottery, and the revenue goes to the province.
It is the cheapest start on our roster: a $5 minimum deposit by Interac e-Transfer, Visa or Mastercard, debit cards, PayPal on the web or Apple Pay in the iOS app. Withdrawals go out by Interac (up to $9,999 a day), bank transfer or PayPal, with a $10 minimum. Most first withdrawals are processed within two business days while your identity is confirmed.
Pros
- $5 minimum deposit
- Same account as your lottery tickets
- Three payout methods including PayPal
Cons
- Interac payouts capped at $9,999 a day
- PayPal not available in the app

bet365: Quickest Payouts at an Alberta Online Casino
Alberta · Ontariobet365 has separate Casino and Sportsbook listings on the Alberta directory, and it brings a cashier built for speed. In Ontario, where its banking terms are published in full, Interac withdrawals take one to four hours once approved. Alberta limits can differ, so check the cashier after you sign up.
The casino has a large slot catalogue and live blackjack, roulette and baccarat, all in one wallet with the sportsbook.
Pros

- Shared wallet across casino and sports
- Live in Alberta from launch

Alberta · OntarioBetMGM Sportsbook & Casino brought its jackpot network west, with more than 20 linked progressive titles such as MGM Grand Millions and Bison Fury. In Ontario the brand reported $14 million in progressive jackpots paid in 2024, a good sign of how often those pools drop.
It is not the fastest cashier. BetMGM lists three to five business days of processing before an Interac payout goes out, and the minimum deposit is $10.
Pros
- Large linked jackpot network
- Exclusive branded slots
- Casino and sportsbook on one account

How Alberta's Online Casino Market Works
The iGaming Alberta Act received Royal Assent on 15 May 2025. Under it, private operators register with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, the regulator, and sign a commercial agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation, a new Crown corporation that keeps the public directory of approved sites. The market opened on 13 July 2026, a transition period for existing operators ended on 13 October, and the directory listed 51 sites when we checked on 8 November 2026.
Some familiar Ontario names are not there yet. PointsBet and LeoVegas were not on the Alberta list on 8 November 2026. Offshore casino sites are not registered in Alberta.

Alberta Rules Every Player Should Know
- 18 and in the province. You must be 18 or older and physically in Alberta, although some brands set a higher house age.
- Look for the seals. Approved sites show the Alberta iGaming Corporation logo and the RG Check accreditation seal.
- No crypto. Regulated Alberta sites do not take cryptocurrency, and player funds are held in Canadian trust accounts.
- A referee for disputes. If an operator cannot fix an account problem within 72 hours, you can ask the Alberta iGaming Corporation for an independent review.
