112th Grey Cup: Saskatchewan And Montreal Lineup For CFL Glory

The stage is set for the 112th Grey Cup, where the East Division champion Montreal Alouettes will face the West Division champion Saskatchewan Roughriders for the Canadian Football League (CFL) title. The game will be played at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg. The fifth time the city has hosted the championship and the first since 2015. Fans across Canada can watch the game on CTV, TSN, and RDS, while viewers in the United States can tune in on CBS Sports Network.

This year’s matchup marks the third championship game meeting between Montreal and Saskatchewan, with the Alouettes holding the edge in their previous clashes. Montreal captured both the 97th Grey Cup in 2009 (28–27) and the 98th Grey Cup in 2010 (21–18). Each a heartbreaker for the Riders.

The Roughriders, finished with the CFL’s best record this season, are appearing in their 20th Grey Cup since 1923. Saskatchewan owns a 4–15 record in those appearances and last lifted the trophy in 2013, winning on home soil against Hamilton. Meanwhile, the Alouettes have been successful in 8 of their 19 trips to the championship since 1949. Including victories in each of their last three appearances, most recently in the 110th Grey Cup (2023) against Winnipeg.

As Saskatchewan looks to complete a storybook season. Meanwhile Montreal aims to extend its championship streak and further solidify its Grey Cup legacy. The trophy itself, first awarded in 1909, was donated by Earl Grey, then Governor General of Canada. A timeless symbol of Canadian football excellence.

Last Grey Cup Before New Rule Changes

The Canadian game will look a little different next season. Both franchises are hungry for another CFL championship. And this will go down as an epic game for multiple reasons. This will be the final Grey Cup before the CFL implements the new rule changes in 2026.
