UPDATE:

The first preseason game of the season featuring the Edmonton Elks and the Calgary Stampeders has been delayed by thirty minutes due to additional time needed to monitor air quality and to ensure both teams have ample time to warmup. The game will now kickoff at 2:30 p.m. MT/4:30 p.m. ET.

The Stampeders come into this game on the back of a solid 12-6 regular-season record last year, good for a second-place finish in the West Division. The Elks, on the other hand, had a disappointing season with a 4-14 record, finishing last in the West standings.

Players to Watch

James Vaughters is back in the Stampeders’ lineup after a stint in the National Football League. His return is set to boost the team’s defensive line. Additionally, watch for the impact of longtime franchise standouts Nik Lewis and Juwan Simpson on Dave Dickenson’s coaching staff.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the Victoria Day matinee at McMahon Stadium start at $15. Fans are advised to check for CTrain closures and avail the express shuttle bus service offered by Calgary Transit due to maintenance work.

The fun on Monday starts before kickoff with a musical performance by Danny Nix and the Heat, who will also perform at halftime. Fans will have a chance to win prizes throughout the contest.

So gear up for an exciting day of CFL football, as the Stampeders and the Elks get ready to kick off the 2023 preseason in style.

What channel was yesterday’s game? I couldn’t find it anywhere and it was very upsetting not to be able to watch. What channel will future games be on?
