Edmonton Welcomes New Talent

The Edmonton Elks have made a strategic move by signing American running back Ja’Won Howell, as announced on Wednesday. This addition aims to bolster the Elks' offensive lineup for the upcoming season.

Howell's Impressive Collegiate Track Record

Ja’Won Howell, an impactful running back, has shown promising skills during his time at Alabama State University (2022-2023). Throughout 22 games, Howell accumulated 680 rushing yards from 173 carries and contributed six touchdowns. Before his tenure at Alabama State, Howell showcased his abilities at the University of North Alabama, where he secured 284 yards and a touchdown across 26 games spanning four seasons (2018-2021).

Roster Adjustments

In conjunction with the new signing, the Elks organization has made a roster change by releasing National defensive lineman Olivier Charles-Pierre. Charles-Pierre participated in the final three games of the last season for the Elks, recording three defensive tackles.
