Elks Cut OL Jacob Ruby After Breaching Covid Protocols

On Tuesday, August 31st, the Edmonton Elks released Canadian offensive lineman Jacob Ruby after a breach of covid protocols.

The University of Richmond alumni began his CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes in 2015 and would go on to sign with Edmonton in 2017.

Per the CFL's official press release,

"The move is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to strictly following the CFL’s COVID protocols, which are in place to ensure the health and safety of all Tier 1 members and anyone they come in contact with."

The rest of the Elks Tier 1 players, coaches, and staff are on the final day of their 10-day isolation period and are currently on track to play their week 5 game against the Calgary Stampeders on Monday with no issues.
