During Week 14 of the 2025 season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats revived their season against the Montreal Alouettes. The Tiger-Cats struggled to establish their passing game in Montreal, but compensated with a strong showing from their ground attack. Facing a tough Alouettes defense, Hamilton’s offensive challenges stem from injuries the team is actively managing.
To address the injuries disrupting the Tiger-Cats roster, Hamilton is actively pursuing solutions. The Tiger-Cats announced today the signing of American wide receiver Myron Mitchell. They also released American wide receiver Joseph Ngata and reassigned National offensive lineman Arvin Hosseini to the practice roster, as reported by the CFL Transactions list.
Wide receiver Myron Mitchell is the most recent former Winnipeg Blue Bomber to join the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 2025 roster. During the 2024 CFL season, Mitchell played in four games for the Blue Bombers, although he did not catch any passes for Winnipeg. Previously, Mitchell played for the Birmingham Stallions during the 2023 USFL season. Additionally, Mitchell spent time with the Minnesota Vikings during the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons, playing in one game for the team during that time.
While the 6’1″, 180-pound Mitchell has spent time with several professional football teams, his only significant production was during his time with the Birmingham Stallions. While playing for the Stallions, Mitchell appeared in nine games, catching 15 passes for 138 yards and scoring one touchdown. Prior to playing for the Stallions, Mitchell played two seasons of college football with the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2019 to 2020.
During his time with the UAB Blazers, Mitchell appeared in 23 games, catching 63 passes for 990 yards and scoring seven receiving touchdowns. In addition to playing wide receiver, he also contributed as a punt and kick returner throughout his career.
