The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are preparing for 2026 by re-signing veteran National long snapper Gordon Whyte and adding American defensive back Kendall Bohler to their roster. Whyte has been a consistent contributor for the Tiger-Cats’ special teams since 2021, while Bohler enhances an already talented secondary.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats X account announced that the team brought back Whyte and added Bohler to the roster heading into 2026.
Gordon Whyte has played a vital role for the Tiger-Cats since his first season with Hamilton in 2021. Since 2021, Whyte has played in 84 games for Hamilton, all as their long snapper on punts, extra points, and field goals. While he has recorded only one tackle during his CFL career, Whyte’s contributions on special teams have made him a key part of the Tiger-Cats’ success.
In addition to extending Whyte, the Tiger-Cats also signed American defensive back Kendall Bohler. Bohler is an American defensive back who played college football at Mercer University in 2019 and Florida A&M from 2021 until 2024. The 6’0″, 195-pound Bohler only had one solo tackle while playing at Mercer, but he did play in 44 games for the Florida A&M Rattlers.
While playing for the Rattlers, Bohler recorded 73 solo tackles and 32 assists. Bohler will have an opportunity to work his way into a role with a defensive secondary that has historically been one of the best units in the CFL. Hamilton’s defensive secondary could be affected by free agency, with Jamal Peters, Stavros Katsantonis, and DaShaun Amos all set to become free agents in January 2026.
