The Montreal Alouettes announced Monday that they have signed Reece Udinski who played for the Richmond Spiders and was also an attendant of the Seattle Seahawks rookie mini camp this offseason. Prior to playing for Richmond, Udinski played for Maryland and VMI. He is 17th all-time in passing yards at the FCS level with 11,474 yards.

Richmond Spiders (2022)
Udinski’s final season of college football was his first as a Richmond Spider and it was a banner year for him in 2022. He completed 378 of his 515 passes that season (73.4 percent) which was second in NCAA FCS in 2022 and wracked up 3,614 yards, 29 passing touchdowns with 5 interceptions, and 4 rushing touchdowns. It was the highest passing completion percentage in Richmond’s history as well as the most pass attempts in a season.
He was recognized for his efforts by being named to the First Team All-CAA and was named the Bill Dudley Award winner which is awarded to the top college football player in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It was only the second time a player for Richmond was awarded the Bill Dudley in its 33-year history.
Reece Udinski completed 28 of his 31 passes (90.3 percent) for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns. in the round 1 playoff win against Davidson which was a record for the highest completion percentage in an FCS playoff game. In the playoff loss to Sacramento State in the second round he completed 21 of his 39 passes (53.8%) for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns with 1 interception.
Maryland (2021)
Taulia Tagovailoa was the starter for Maryland when Reece Udinski played for them in 2021. Udinski attempted 15 passes that season completing 11 (73.3%) for 100 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
Virginia Military Institute (2017-2021)
Reece Udinski played in 34 games with 27 starts over his time at VMI before his final season was cut short due to a season-ending injury 4 games in. He completed 766 of his 1,238 passes (61.8%) for 7,690 yards with 47 touchdowns and 26 interceptions.
Before his injury in his final season which was played in the Spring of 2021 due to covid, it was VMI’s first 4-0 start since 1981. Udinski is the all-time leader in VMI passing yards. He set the record for most passing yards in a season for the program with 3,082 in 2018 and then broke his own record in 2019 with 3,276 passing yards.
