The Montreal Alouettes come off the bye to host the Ottawa RedBlacks Thursday night at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Montreal’s most recent game was another dominant victory winning 48-30 over the Edmonton Elks in Week 10, while Ottawa is coming off a 21-33 loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Date/Location: Thursday, August 20, 2026 / Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, Montreal, QC
Kickoff Time: 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT
Channel: TSN, RDS (Canada), CBSSN (USA), CFL+ (Global)
Odds (If you place bets, please do so responsibly in moderation):

Spread: Montreal -13.5 (-110), Ottawa +13.5 (-110)

Moneyline: Montreal -750, Ottawa +520

Over/Under: 62.5 (Over -110, Under -110)

Montreal Alouettes: The Alouettes are having an unbelievable season as they begin the 2nd half of their season. They are 8-1 while bolstering the best points differential in the league at +74. Davis Alexander leads the league with over 3,000 yards passing while Tyson Philpot and Tyler Senead are #1 and #2 in receiving, with Philpot on pace to break the single-season receiving record.

Ottawa RedBlacks: The Ottawa RedBlacks are coming off a 21-33 loss to Winnipeg. The RedBlacks are 0-9 with a -115 point differential. The RedBlacks have by far the fewest rushing yards per game at 53.4 while also having the fewest rushing attempts in the league at 119, a problematic pattern that was displayed under Head Coach Ryan Dinwiddie in Toronto last season before signing with Ottawa.

Last week saw Jake Maier completed 28 of 43 passes for 314 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The run game was limited, with Greg Bell managing just 17 yards on 6 carries. The receiving corps was led by Keelan White with 6 catches for 79 yards, Kalil Pimpleton (6 catches, 61 yards), Ayden Eberhardt (6 catches, 40 yards, 1 TD), and Curtis McDonald (3 catches, 57 yards).

Alouettes Keys to the Game

More Davis Alexander Show

Davis Alexander has been almost perfect this season, bolstering a 72.3% completion rate on his way to 3,140 yards and 18 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions over 9 games. If he were to continue this pace the rest of the season, he would finish with the third most passing yards in a single CFL season behind Doug Flutie (6,619 in 1991) and Kent Austin (6,225 in 1992).

Create Big Plays with Philpot and Snead

Week 10 was a party for the CFL’s leading receivers as Tyson Philpot grabbed 10 passes for 131 yards and 3 TDs and Tyler Snead had 5 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Keep Pounding the Rock

In recent years, I have at times criticized Montreal for abandoning the run at times. This season Montreal is tied for the 2nd most rushing attempts at 181 while having the 2nd most rushing yards and 1,013. Montreal should keep bringing this offensive balance and ensure that if they do find themselves trailing in a game, they do not deviate from their game plan.

Ballhawk Coverage

Ottawa could find themselves chasing the game and making some high-risk plays downfield to try to keep Montreal’s pace. Montreal could potentially capitalize on an interception or 2 in these scenarios from their talented secondary.
