Report: CFL Training Camp To Begin July 10th, Players & Coaches In The Dark

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk reported today that the CFL is all set to begin training camp on July 10th. The problem is, CFL players, agents, and coaches have not heard a thing.

According to the report;

“The CFL has informed players and agents that the new season will begin on August 5.

Training camp will open on July 10, after a quarantine that commences on July 2. Camp ends on July 31. “

According to our sources, some coaches have heard about the potential start dates, and some have not. Most of the players we have spoken to have heard nothing from their teams or agents about an official start to training camp.

The July 10th date has been out there as a target date to begin training camp. However, there has been no official word from the CFL as of yet.

TSN’s Dave Naylor was quick to point out.

“There is no change in status of the 2021 @CFL  season. Still dependant on approval from public health authorities for return-to-play and fans-in-stands. Decision on Aug 5th season start expected around mid-June.”

It is clear CFL and spring football fans are anxious for some details on the upcoming 2021 CFL season. It’s unclear if Florio got the memo that the dates discussed several weeks ago were tentative.
