
Saskatchewan Survives Fourth-Quarter Shootout to Advance to 112th Grey Cup
Trevor Harris connected with Tommy Nield for a three-yard touchdown with 11 seconds remaining as the Saskatchewan Roughriders defeated the BC Lions 24-21 in the Western Final at Mosaic Stadium on November 8, 2025. The win sends Saskatchewan to the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg on November 16 to face the Montreal Alouettes.
The game featured 35 points in the fourth quarter alone, with both teams trading scores in a back-and-forth finish before Harris delivered the game-winning drive.
Harris Delivers in Final Moments
Harris completed 26 of 38 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. His final drive covered 66 yards in seven plays, starting from the Saskatchewan 34-yard line with 1:03 remaining.
The drive included completions of 23 yards to Samuel Emilus and 21 yards to Dohnte Meyers before the game-winning connection with Nield. Harris also rushed three times for 15 yards and added a rushing touchdown earlier in the game.
Fourth-Quarter Surge
BC quarterback Nathan Rourke matched Harris throughout the contest, completing 20 of 30 passes for 290 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Rourke added two rushing touchdowns, including a two-yard sneak with 6:35 remaining in the fourth quarter that gave BC a 21-14 lead.
The Lions extended their lead to 14-14 at 13:09 of the fourth quarter when Rourke found Keon Hatcher for a 19-yard touchdown pass. Rourke’s second rushing score put BC ahead by seven before Saskatchewan’s late rally.
Ground Game Makes Difference
Saskatchewan running back A.J. Ouellette rushed 17 times for 113 yards, averaging 6.6 yards per carry with a long of 16 yards. His consistent production throughout the game kept the Lions defense honest and set up Harris’s passing attack.
BC’s James Butler carried 12 times for 58 yards and added five receptions for 43 yards out of the backfield.
Defensive Stands
Saskatchewan’s defense recorded one interception when Marcus Sayles picked off Rourke in the third quarter and returned it 14 yards. The Riders also recovered a fumble by Ouellette in the third quarter.
BC’s defense sacked Harris zero times while Saskatchewan brought down Rourke three times for 12 yards in losses. Antoine Brooks Jr. led Saskatchewan with six tackles, including one sack.

Saskatchewan outgained BC 433-349 in total yards and controlled possession for 30:56 compared to BC’s 29:04. The Riders converted 11 of 23 second-down attempts (48%) while the Lions were 11 of 20 (55%).
Brett Lauther was perfect on field goals, converting all three attempts for Saskatchewan with a long of 34 yards. BC’s Sean Whyte missed his only field goal attempt from 42 yards.
