If the Winnipeg Blue Bombers did not have bad luck, they would have no luck at all! Both Wolitarsky and Neufeld have both been placed on the six-game injured list.
While injury woes continue for the Bombers they will try and get luck against BC. Helping their effort will be Lucky Whitehead, who will draw into the lineup because of the injuries.
Also helping the Bombers will be the over 30,000 fans in attendance!
That is truly amazing for a club to draw that many fans on a Thursday night with a club that has a 2-6 record!
I said in my last article that you have to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good. So what must the Bombers do for a win?
1) Protect their quarterback! With Nathan Rourke maybe making his way back to the CFL Marshall Ferguson makes a case why Winnipeg is in the top 2 spot to sign him. You have got to be kidding me! The only way I see Winnipeg signing Rourke is if they part ways with Collaros. There is zero, let me say it again, zero chance Rourke comes to a CFL team to be a number 2 quarterback! And with Zach Collaros being the highest paid CFL player, not quarterback, “player”, there is no way they keep Collaros and bring in Rourke. Lets put that insanity to rest!
The issue is not the Bombers’ quarterback, it is their O-line. For the Bombers to win they must keep Zach upright and give him time to make throws.
2) Stay away from the desserts! In the last 2 games the Bombers have committed 8 turnovers. The turnover battle is so important in the CFL that it is amazing that WPG kept the scores so close with that many turnovers!
3) Bet against WPG For years, this team has loved to prove the doubters wrong! They get a change to do that again this week.
Nobody picked the Bombers to win! Let me go on record, and you will see it with the CFL Writer’s Picks, I am going with Winnipeg.
4) Feed Oliveira In a precarious set of circumstances the Bombers have been going away from the run. But you have to feed the beast!
Give Brady close to 20 carries this game and that will go a long way to sealing the deal!
