Tiger-Cats Add OL Temi Ajirotutu to Offensive Line Stockpile

Heading into the second full week of training camp, several players are competing every day to extend their opportunity to survive the next round of roster cutsand remain on the Tiger-Cats roster. The most recent player to be cut fromHamilton's roster is American wide receiverShedler Fervius. By releasing Fervius, the Tiger-Cats opened up another roster spot to add another prospect to evaluate, and this time, Hamilton has made the decision to add another offensive lineman.

During the off-season, the Tiger-Cats made several moves to continue improving their offensive line over the last two seasons. To keep the momentum rolling for the Tiger-Cats' offensive line, it is critical to add hungry players who need an opportunity to prove themselves. That is a perfect description of the most recent offensive lineman added to the Tiger-Catsroster,Temi Ajirotutu.

American offensive lineman Temi Ajirotutu is a 6'4", 310-pound offensive tackle from Queens, New York. He joins the Tiger-Cats after six seasons at Villanova University (2020-2025), playing 52 games with 45 starts, allowing 52 quarterback pressures and 6 sacks. In addition to playing offensive tackle, Ajirotutu has the potential to fit in at any position along the Tiger-Cats offensive line.

While Ajirotutu has the prototypical size for an NFL offensive tackle, he has been criticized for a high center of gravity, which creates balance issues, especially in pass protection against speed rushers off the edge. Nevertheless, he excels at shutting down bull rushers and is also an exceptional run blocker. Combined with his football IQ, powerful run-blocking, and ability to block in space when pulling, these attributes make him a prime candidate to win a job on the Tiger-Cats' offensive line as an offensive guard or right tackle.
