After Week 10 came to an end, Montreal showed why they are the most dominant team in the CFL in a 48-24 win over Edmonton. Toronto overcame multiple turnovers with a 33-30 victory over Calgary. Saskatchewan took nothing for granted, dominating Ottawa 42-20. BC hung on with a 27-24 win over Hamilton.
Hello CFL Fans! Here are your CFL News Hub Power Rankings after Week 10.
Record: 8 – 1
Previous ranking: 1
On paper, this had the makings of a showdown between the top two out of three teams in the CFL entering Week 10.
Although it was close up to halftime, Montreal turned it on in the 2nd half and did not look back.
Davis Alexander led the way as the architect of the Montreal offence, making the Edmonton defence chase every play. At least it felt that way, tossing 4 touchdown passes and 352 passing yards.
As usual, the duo with Tyler Snead was a perfect 5-for-5 in targets and receptions with 146 yards and 1 touchdown. Tyson Philpot had a great game with 10 receptions on 12 targets for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The running game was equally effective, as Travis Theis had 14 carries for 100 yards with a 7.1 yards per carry.
Next game: Montreal will be on a bye in Week 11. Their next scheduled game will be on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, vs. Ottawa.
Record: 6 – 2
Previous ranking: 3
Saskatchewan did well in spreading the ball vs. a limping Ottawa team. Trevor Harris was at it again, tossing for 401 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a lone interception.
With a depleted receiving core, KeeSean Johnson contributed with 133 yards and 1 touchdown. This was followed by Johnny Johnson III with 117 yards, D’Sean Mimbs with 84 yards, and Dylan Djete with 53 yards and a touchdown.
Post-halftime, the Roughriders were dominant, scoring 29 points in the 2nd half and making it a long day for Ottawa.
Next game: Saturday, August 15th, 2026, vs. Hamilton.
3 – Edmonton Elks
Record: 6 – 3
Previous ranking: 2
It was a big test for Edmonton when they entered Montreal. As the biggest surprise team of the 2026 season, it was a great opportunity to make another statement.
It was challenging for Edmonton in halting the Montreal ground attack for the majority of the game. Travis Theis hit the line of scrimmage with a mission and had the Edmonton defence on their back heels.
Edmonton was unable to match the physical game on the line of scrimmage. The Montreal offensive line was superior by opening the holes needed for the running game, and giving Davis Alexander the time needed to make a play.
Take away the score in this game. Edmonton has entered uncharted territory as it went head-on with the best team in the CFL. Edmonton split the season series, winning the first meeting in Week 3. With that said, it shows that there is a lot of work to do for the Elks to grow as a football team.
Next game: Saturday, August 15th, 2026, vs. Toronto.
Record: 4 – 5
Previous ranking: 4
Calgary had a good opportunity to take advantage of a Toronto team that is prone to turnovers. The Stamps did a good job continuing this trend for Toronto with 4 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery.
However, the Toronto defence did show up when it mattered most.
Calgary experienced difficulties passing the ball throughout the game. Veron Adams Jr. was kept in check, going 12-for-24, 159 passing yards, and 2 interceptions.
It was a sloppy game for both football clubs. For Calgary, it was an opportunity lost, as they were unable to take full control of the game due to Toronto's miscues.
Next game: Thursday, August 13th, 2026, vs. BC.
Record: 4 – 4
Previous ranking: 6
It was sheer luck for Toronto to come out on top over Calgary. Once again, the turnovers were evident, with Chad Kelly adding 4 interceptions.
Brady Lidster was almost half of the Toronto offence, going 4 out of 5 in field goal attempts.
As bad as this showing was for the Argonauts, a win is still a win. On that note, the Argos have a lot of work to do to clean up their game. They will be facing a stingy defensive secondary when they play Edmonton.
Next game: Saturday, August 15th, 2026, in Edmonton.
Record: 4 – 4
Previous ranking: 5
Winnipeg was on a bye in Week 10. They will not turn their undivided attention towards Ottawa in Week 11.
Next game: Friday, August 14th, 2026, vs. Ottawa.
7 – BC Lions
Record: 3 – 5
Previous ranking: 7
It was the first game back for Nathan Rourke since his recent injury to revive the BC offence.
The Lions were pretty balanced in both the passing and running game. With that said, they did face a tough Hamilton defence.
Zander Horvath contributed with 62 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. Justin McInnis had a great day with 159 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Jevon Cottoy was a perfect 7-for-7 in receptions for 109 yards.
Although it was a nail-bitter, narrow win for BC, they did encounter luck from a missed field goal by Marc Liegghio to secure the win as time expired.
Next game: Thursday, August 13th, 2026, in Calgary.
Record: 3 – 6
Previous ranking: 8
It is always difficult when you are buying time until your starting quarterback is cleared to play and takes over your offence. With inconsistencies with Trey Ford and Jake Dolegala, the Ti-Cats turned to Harrison Frost for the 2nd time in the hopes of injecting some life into the offence.
Harrison Frost did good things for Hamilton in Week 10, connecting with Myron Mitchell for 61 yards, Kurleigh Gittens Jr. for 54 yards and a touchdown, and Kenny Lawler for 48 yards.
As always, the Hamilton defence executed well to place the offence in a good spot to win the game. However, it was a challenge running the ball against a stingy BC defence.
After being scoreless in the 3rd quarter, it was simply a game of time possession. Hamilton would score a touchdown and would punt twice in the 4th quarter. With time about to expire, a missed field goal sealed a BC victory.
Next game: Saturday, August 15th, 2026, in Saskatchewan.
9 - Ottawa Redblacks
Record: 0 – 8
Previous ranking: 9
It seems to be the same story for Ottawa in 2026. The Redblacks play decently in the 1st half, only to fall apart and be outplayed in the 2nd half, resulting in another loss.
When your running game is ineffective, as it has been this season for Ottawa, it comes with a lot of problems.
Once again, the running game was a non-factor with only 13 yards. To put this in perspective, the Redblacks have a net of 428 yards rushing this season, with an average of 53.5 yards per game.
The result is that the weight on their shoulders is the lack of production from the offensive line, along with the running game, to help out Jake Maier.
