Week 13 opened with a big upset. Winnipeg convincingly outplayed Montreal and cruised to a 44-28 victory. Calgary made it count with their 28-23 win over Hamilton. They started slow, but in the end, Saskatchewan overcame a 10-point deficit and flipped the script with a 28-24 win. It was close by halftime; in the end, BC blew out Ottawa 45-24.

Hello CFL Fans! Here are your CFL News Hub Power Rankings after Week 13.

1 – Montreal Alouettes

Record: 9-2

Previous ranking: 1

It appears Montreal is human after all.

It does not matter how dominant you have been during the regular season. Even the best can be beaten. However, every great team in the CFL will experience a bad loss and/or a lack of productivity on a couple of occasions over the course of a season.

Montreal hit a wall vs. Winnipeg. The Alouettes faced a difficult challenge – a hungry Winnipeg team.

Winnipeg was looking to create their own consistency.

Simply put, Winnipeg won most of the battles regarding ball security, the line of scrimmage, field position, clock management, and the physicality of the game.

It will be a beautiful game on record for Montreal in Week 14, as it will be Davis Alexander vs. Nathan Rourke.

Next game: Friday, September 4th, 2026, vs. BC.

2 – Edmonton Elks

Record: 8-3

Previous ranking: 2

Edmonton was on a bye in Week 13. It will now be the part of the season for most teams in the CFL as the Labour Day Classic approaches. Edmonton will attempt to create more separation amongst teams in the West Division, as they are scheduled for a back-to-back series vs. their arch-rivals, Calgary.

Next game: Monday, September 7th, 2026, in Calgary.

3 – BC Lions

Record: 6-5

Previous ranking: 4

BC appeared to be in a fight with Ottawa when halftime arrived, tied at 17-17.

BC turned it on in the 2nd half and never looked back. Nathan Rourke did what Nathan Rourke usually does best – Wear down a defence. Nathan Rourke exploited a weak Ottawa pass defence, distributing the ball to Jermaine Jackson, Keon Hatcher, and Jevon Cottoy.

Zander Horvath had another huge game with 164 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.

BC is playing some exceptional football since beginning the season at a 1-4 start.

Next game: Friday, September 4th, 2026, in Montreal.

4 – Saskatchewan Roughriders

Record: 7-4

Previous ranking: 3

The Roughriders entered Week 13 looking to inject some offence. For the last couple of weeks, they have not scored more than 20 points in a game.

Their game vs. Toronto did have a playoff-type atmosphere.

After matching a touchdown scored by Toronto in the 1 st quarter, the offensive output appeared to be stalling again.

The beauty of a football game always comes down to how you counter in the 2nd half.

The Saskatchewan defence came up big, as the Toronto offence struggled to keep up with Saskatchewan's momentum. Saskatchewan forced turnovers late in the game and ultimately took full control from Toronto’s miscues.

Next game: Sunday, September 6th, 2026, vs. Winnipeg.

5 – Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Record: 6-5

Previous ranking: 6

Winnipeg was looking for a clear-cut emotional spark. Winnipeg has played inconsistent football this season. Facing Montreal would be a great challenge, to say the least, for any team in the CFL.

Winnipeg owned the clock with 37:50 in time of possession.

On defence, Winnipeg forced Montreal's running game to become irrelevant - Only 51 rushing yards.

On the offence, Winnipeg was in command, creating 32 first downs on Montreal’s defence. The offence was ready and hungry with an outstanding scoring rate of 5 for 7 in the red zone.

Next game: Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at Saskatchewan.

6 – Calgary Stampeders

Record: 5-6

Previous ranking: 7

Josh Love was shown the love by the Calgary faithful at McMahon Stadium.

In his first CFL start as QB1 in relief of injured Veron Adams Jr., he did what you want a quarterback to do. Keep errors to a minimum, secure the ball, spread the ball, and rely on the running game to shoulder the load.

Josh Love played a pretty good game, going 31 for 46 pass completions, 1 touchdown pass, and 2 interceptions.

Dedrick Mills exposed the Hamilton defence with 118 yards on the ground with an 8.4 yards per carry on 14 attempts. He was a workhorse for the Calgary offence to seal the deal late in the 4th quarter.

Next game: Monday, September 7th, 2026, vs. Edmonton.

7 – Toronto Argonauts

Record: 5-6

Previous ranking: 5

After a dominant win over Hamilton in Week 12, Toronto was looking to keep that momentum in Saskatchewan.

After both teams traded touchdowns, Toronto took control of the game entering halftime.

The Boatmen were unable to establish a running game. And, for the most part, abandoned it for the majority of the game.

The Argos defence played an exceptional game, stuffing the Saskatchewan running game on multiple occasions.

Unfortunately, mistakes in the 2nd half with penalties and interceptions, and 2nd-and-long scenarios, put immediate strain.

The Argos defence was on the field too often, and the offence were unable to manage the game. Saskatchewan took the momentum and never let it go.

Tarvarus McFadden played an exceptional game, breaking up many passes, making it a difficult day for Trevor Harris. Unfortunately, an offside call for a potential field goal. resulted in Saskatchewan receiving a 1st–and–goal on the Argos 1-yard line. Saskatchewan pounced on the opportunity to take the lead.

Once the Argos received possession, the offence was unable to move consistently.

Next game: Monday, September 7th, 2026, in Hamilton.

8 – Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Record: 4-8

Previous ranking: 8

It seems to be a trend for Hamilton regarding the 2nd half of a football game. Unable to close out a game.

Hamilton played a great game vs. a Calgary team that was in the same position in a must-win game.

Entering the 4th quarter with a narrow 20-16 lead, they kept the pace statistically vs. Calgary.

Penalty troubles at the wrong time came back to haunt Hamilton once again, along with the inability to contain the Stampeders’ running game.

What appeared to be a positive showing by the Tiger-Cats resulted in a game that they let slip away in a 28-23 defeat.

Next game: Monday, September 7th, 2026, vs. Toronto.

9 - Ottawa Redblacks

Record: 0-11

Previous ranking: 9

It’s hard to say anything positive about a 0-11 football team. The record speaks for itself.

Next game: Ottawa will be on a bye in Week 14; they will play in Toronto on Saturday, September 12th, 2026.
