Grayson McCall of Coastal Carolina, Chandler Morris of TCU, and Cameron Ward of Washington State were among the quarterbacks listed. Similar to the Lions’ last negotiation list revealed in December 2022 which had 10 quarterbacks, this one was quarterback-heavy.

Jayden De Laura QB Arizona

Jayden De Laura was ranked 39th by Athlon Sports among FBS quarterbacks ahead of the season. Last year he completed 62.5% of his passes and threw for 307.1 yards per game. He had 3,685 yards and 25 touchdowns with 13 interceptions and also rushed for 122 yards and 4 touchdowns for Arizona in 2022. In 2022 he had a PFF passing grade of 73.7 which put him 71st among FBS quarterbacks with at least 10 dropbacks. His overall offensive grade was 76.3.
Prior to Arizona, he was with Washington State for 2 years where he threw for 2,796 yards in 2021.
Devron Harper WR Mercer

Devron Harper is a senior at Mercer. He was with Gardner Webb prior to transferring to Mercer where he first played in 2021. He played in 24 games so far with Mercer including 3 this season. He has 116 receptions for 1,550 yards and 11 touchdowns as well as 347 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns on 36 attempts. Harper is also effective on special teams with 1 kick return and 1 punt return touchdown in 2022. This season he has a punt returned for a touchdown as well.
Smoke Harris WR Louisiana Tech

Smoke Harris is a redshirt senior at Louisianna Tech. Including 3 games this season he has played in 52 games for LA Tech. He has caught 245 passes for 2,323 yards and 20 touchdowns. So far this season he has 20 receptions for 211 yards and 1 touchdown in 3 games. Harris also has experience in the return game averaging 10.4 yards per punt return on 59 returns and 24.6 average on 37 kickoff returns..
Jermaine Jackson WR Idaho

Jermain Jackson is a redshirt senior at Idaho. He played his first 2 seasons for the College of San Mateo before transferring after being First Team All-State as a returner and receiver in 2019. Including this season Jackson has played in 17 games for Idaho catching 64 passes for 1,162 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has also returned 4 kickoffs averaging 46.5 yards per return with a touchdown in 2022. Jackson has returned 18 punts for Idaho averaging 13 yards per return and had a punt return touchdown in 2022.
Grayson McCall QB Coastal Carolina

McCall is entering his 5th season with Coastal Carolina and his 4th as a starter. Last year he completed 69.7% of his passes for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. He also rushed for 195 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has thrown for over 8,000 yards in his first 3 seasons as a starter with 77 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
McCall was the 7th highest-ranked FBS starting quarterback by Athlon Sports ahead of the season. Last year he had the 15th highest PFF Passing grade among FBS QBs dropping back 10 times or more and had an 86.8 in passing grade and overall offense.
McCall has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in college football.
Gevani McCoy QB Idaho

McCoy started in 11 of Idaho’s 12 games last year missing 1 game due to injury. He threw for 2,721 yards and 27 touchdowns with 7 interceptions as a redshirt freshman in 2022. He had a 68.4 completion percentage which was Idaho’s single season completion record. He also rushed for 89 yards and 3 touchdowns and caught a 14-yard touchdown. He set the single-game completion percentage record for Idaho at 90% against NAU.
McCoy had the 5th highest-ranked PFF passing grade among FCS quarterbacks and had a passing and offensive grade of 91.1 in 2022.
McCoy is a team captain this season for Idaho.
Tommy Mellott QB Montana State

Tommy Mellott is currently a junior at Montana State. Last year he started in 12 games completing 128 of his 210 passes for 1,698 yards with 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also added 1,71 rushing yards on 170 rushes and 13 touchdowns. In 2022 Montana State made it to the FCS Semi Finals.
Mellott had the 15th-highest offensive PFF grade in 2022 among FCS quarterbacks with a grade of 88 and had a passing grade of 75.5.
Mellott made his first career start in the playoffs for Montana State in 2021 as a freshman and helped lead the team to the FCS national championship but had to leave that game due to an injury in the first drive.
Chandler Morris QB TCU

Chandler Morris is a sophomore at TCU and is entering his 4th year of college football. He was with Oklahoma as a freshman in 2020. He was a redshirt in 2021 and played 4 games to preserve his redshirt season. In 2022 he was a redshirt freshman again playing in 4 games.
He had 2 starts in 2021, 1 start in 2022, and 2 starts so far this season for the Horned Frogs. Morris has attempted 175 passes completing 118 (67%) for 1,404 and 8 touchdowns with 2 interceptions so far for TCU.
Garrett Nussmeier QB Louisiana State

Garrett Nussmeier is a redshirt sophomore at LSU where he is the 2nd string quarterback. So far in his career, he has attempted 147 passes completing 85 (57.8%) for 1,177 yards and 7 touchdowns with 6 interceptions. Nussmeier has yet to start a game at the college level. He was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school.
Cameron Ward QB Washington State

Cameron Ward played his first 2 seasons for the Incarnate Word Cardinals where he had 19 starts. He completed 567 of his 893 passes (63.5%) for 6,908 yards and 71 touchdowns with 14 interceptions for the Cardinals over his 19 starts. He played for Washinton State in 2022 where he had 13 starts completing 320 of his 497 yards (64.4%) for 3,231 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.
So far this season Ward has 663 yards and 5 touchdowns completing 70.4% of his passes over his first 2 games for Washington State.
