WINNIPEG, MB.,– The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced that the club has signed American defensive player Josh Miller.
Josh Miller is a 5’11 180lbs defensive back out of Ball State University (BSU). During his amateur career at BSU Millers played in 33 games completing 131 solo tackles, 27 passes deflected, four interceptions, and one fumble recovery.
After the completion of his amateur career, Miller declared for the 2019 NFL draft. He would go on to sign with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2019, but would not be on the team’s final 55 man roster.
Miller would go to sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on February 14, 2020. However, he did not play in 2020 due to the CFL season being canceled. Millers’ career would be filled with ups and downs following the 2020 season.
In 2021 he made the team’s active roster and played in his first professional game on August 5, 2021, against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He then was demoted to the practice roster after a loss in week 3 and did not play again in the regular season. However, he was re-activated for the 108th Grey cup championship game and won his first Grey Cup championship over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
