Week 2 of the Canadian Football League’s 2025 preseason is here with a full lineup of Saturday games. Teams across both divisions continue their final preparations before the regular season begins June 5.
For those wondering, “What football games are on today?”, here’s your answer to CFL games on today:
Game 1: Saskatchewan Roughriders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Location: Princess Auto Stadium, Winnipeg
Game Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 4:00 p.m. EST
Streaming: CFL+
The Roughriders travel to Winnipeg looking to build depth at running back behind A.J. Ouellette. Mario Anderson brings SEC experience from Memphis after transferring from South Carolina. The five-foot-eight, 209-pound back accumulated over 5,000 yards and 56 touchdowns in college. Anderson’s physical running style could provide the backup option Saskatchewan needs.
The Blue Bombers enter with questions at linebacker despite their depth. Connor Shay fell to sixth overall in the CFL Draft and gives Winnipeg an unexpected National option. The University of Wyoming product could earn early rotational minutes if he proves his football IQ translates to the three-down game. Tony Jones and Kyrie Wilson remain projected starters.
Game 2: Ottawa Redblacks at Montreal Alouettes
Location: Olympic Stadium, Montreal
Game Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 4:00 p.m. EST
Streaming: CFL+ (English) and RDS (French)
Ottawa faces early challenges after losing receiver Nick Mardner to a season-ending knee injury. Keelan White gets thrust into the spotlight much earlier than expected. The former Montana walk-on lacks jaw-dropping measurables but answered every challenge with the Griz. White needs preseason production to win trust in an offense loaded with American talent.
Montreal looks to establish depth in their secondary with Tiawan Mullen. The Indiana product brings 4.42 speed and All-American credentials to the Alouettes. At five-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Mullen’s quickness and instincts could translate well to the CFL halfback position. His cousin Lamar Jackson provides NFL pedigree to the family name.
Game 3: Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Location: Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton
Game Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 7:00 p.m. EST
Streaming: TSN2, CFL+
The Argonauts feature two-way threat Derek Slywka in their exhibition lineup. Listed as a receiver after converting during an Indianapolis Colts stint, Slywka returned to his natural safety position during the Double Blue scrimmage. The six-foot-three, 215-pound former Division III All-American brings explosive athleticism and physical tackling ability.
Hamilton puts faith in their second overall draft pick with linebacker Devin Veresuk. The University of Windsor product offers elite physical traits at six-foot-two and 240 pounds. Questions remain whether his processing has caught up to his athletic ability. The Tiger-Cats need answers about their ratio structure and defensive depth at the linebacker position.
Game 4: Edmonton Elks at Calgary Stampeders
Location: McMahon Stadium, Calgary
Game Date: Saturday, May 24
Time: 9:30 p.m. EST
Streaming: CFL+
The Elks travel with mostly rookies looking to make impressions. Binjimen Victor brings Ohio State pedigree at six-foot-four and 200 pounds. His 34-inch arms create an imposing catch radius, but the former four-star recruit has never fully delivered on his potential. At 28 years old, this may represent Victor’s final opportunity.
Calgary rolls with mostly starters in their final preseason appearance. Kaylon Horton gets another chance to run with the first team after being held without a catch in the opener. The five-foot-nine, 173-pound converted defensive back excelled as a return specialist and flashed in that capacity during his CFL debut. Horton has a clear path onto the roster if he wins the return job.
