The Cincinnati Bengals have drafted Canadian tight end Tanner McLachlan 194th in the 6th round. He played for Arizona over the last 2 seasons after beginning his career with Southern Utah. McLachlan was the third highest-ranked prospect by CFL Central Scouting eligible for the CFL Draft in their final rankings.
McLachlan played in 25 games over the last 2 seasons for Arizona with 18 starts. He compiled 79 receptions for 984 yards and 6 touchdowns. He was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in 2023 as well as being selected Second Team All-Pac-12 by the Associated Press. In 2023 he had 45 receptions which was the second most by a tight end in the program’s history.
Prior to attending Arizona, he played in 11 games with 2 starts for Southern Utah where he caught 15 passes for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns. He missed the 2021 season due to injury before transferring to Arizona for the following season.
Following his collegiate career he was invited to the Senior Bowl although he was unable to attend due to injury. He later attended the NFL Combine where he performed a 4.61-40-yard dash, a 35-inch vertical, and a 9’9” broad jump.
McLachlan measures 6’5, 244 pounds, and is 25 years old.
