As I had mentioned, the Bombers were busy before Christmas with re-signings making sure the Bomber fans had a merry Christmas!

Well, it did not take long after the holiday break for the Bombers to ring in the new year with another great re-signing.

On January 1st, 2024 the Bombers re-signed American linebacker Brian Cole to a 1 year deal. Having played 26 regular season games Cole has recorded 20 tackles on special teams, 3 defensive tackles, and 3 forced fumbles.

If you ask me this was a great re-signing. While Cole may not be a name that you hear week in and week out there is something more telling than his statistics when it comes to this new contract.

What really sticks out to me is that Cole was set to become a free agent in February. Yet with many potential free agents still to sign, the Bombers out ink to paper with Cole on January 1st. To me that speaks volumes about how Cole is regarded by the club, the General Manager, and the coaching staff. The Bombers obviously saw Cole as a priority signing and not somebody that they wanted to go to free agency.

I suspect that as the week rolls on we are going to hear about more Bomber players being re-signed.
