The Montreal Alouettes announced a flurry of roster moves on Monday as they signed Quebec offensive lineman Anthony Vandal, receivers Terique Owens (American) and Kaseem Ferdinand (National), and defensive lineman Ty Anderson (National).
The Alouettes also announced the release of Illinois product, wide receiver Zakhari Franklin, who led the Alouettes in receiving over the preseason after catching 14 of his 17 targets for 117 yards.
Anthony Vandal (6'4", 297 lbs.)
Anthony Vandal played in 35 games over the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Toronto Argonauts, where he won a Grey Cup in 2024. He was released in final roster cuts by the Argos following training camp.
Prior to entering the CFL, he earned second-team All-Canadian honours in 202 with Université de Sherbrooke. He was drafted in the 8th round by Toronto in the 2023 CFL Draft before playing his final season of collegiate football.
Terique Owens (6'3", 200 lbs.)
Terique Owens was with the Alouettes this past preseason and training camp and was among final roster cuts.
Owens started his collegiate career with Contra Costa (CA) at the Juco level, where he caught 15 passes for 306 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2018. He transferred to Florida Atlantic, where he dressed in 4 games in 2020.
Owens then finished his collegiate career with Missouri State, where he played in 26 games with 7 starts and recorded 46 receptions for 765 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had 28 catches for 528 yards and 4 touchdowns in his final season in 2023.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2024, where he spent time on the practice roster until he was released in final roster cuts in 2025.
Owens is the son of HoF WR Terrell Owens.
Kaseem Ferdinand (5'10", 180 lbs.)
Kaseem Ferdinand was named to the U Sports Second All-Star Team and OUA Conference First All-Star Team in 2024 after catching 42 passes for 645 yards and 6 touchdowns over 8 games with Carleton University.
Ferdinand was signed by Montreal in 2025 as an undrafted free agent and appeared in 4 games.
Ty Anderson (6'2", 283 lbs.)
Ty Anderson played in 4 seasons with the Alberta Golden Bears from 2021 through 2024, where he played in 30 games with 10 starts. He recorded 43 solo tackles, 29 assisted tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, a sack, 3 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery over his career. He was named a Canada West All-Star in 2024 after recording 27 total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and .5 sacks.
Anderson was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the fourth round (36th overall) in the 2025 CFL Draft and played in 9 games with Hamilton in 2025.
