The Philadelphia Eagles signed Canadian offensive lineman Anim Dankwah on Saturday per FCS Football Channel. Dankwah was the 11th highest-ranked CFL Draft Eligible prospect per CFL Central Scouting.
Dankwah played for Howard University where he started in 33 of the 40 games he played in primarily playing at left tackle. He was named First Team All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference in each of the last 2 seasons. He was Second-Team All-MEAC in 2021.
Dankwah was born in Ghana and moved to Canada to live with his dad as a 9-year-old. He did not start playing football until he was in grade 9 at the suggestion of the football coach who suggested he try out based on his size.
Following his senior season, Dankwah was the first player for Howard University to be invited to the NFL Combine in 10 years. He did not participate in all of the testing but did post a 27.5-inch vertical and did 24 reps on the bench press. At his pro day in March, he ran a 5.44-second 40-yard dash, an 8.46-second 3-cone drill, a 5.21-second shuttle, and a 7’04” broad jump.
He was considered one of the most likely HBCU prospects to be drafted this year but for the 2nd time in 4 years, no HBCU prospects were selected in the NFL Draft.
Dankwah measures 6’8, 353 pounds.
