The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed pending free-agent left tackle Isiah Cage. The veteran lineman has been with the Argos since 2018, making him the longest-tenured player on the team. The re-signing of Toronto’s starting left tackle comes just days after the club re-upped with six players for the 2024 season.
Isiah Cage started eleven games for the Argonauts in 2023. A strong accomplishment for the 30-year-old CFL vet, who endured a lot of adversity with injuries in the years prior. The small school standout from Wisconsin Eau-St. Claire has been one of Canada’s best all-around offensive tackles when healthy. Cage helped pave the way on the blindside in 2023 for the breakout campaign of quarterback Chad Kelly.
The 16-2 Argos in 2023 allowed a league-low 19 sacks in 18 regular season games. Cage was an integral part of a great unit coached up by line coach Kris Sweet. The next team closest to Toronto’s low figure was Winnipeg, having allowed 33 quarterback sacks.
The Boatmen have over 30 pending free agents set to hit the open market in CFL 2024 free agency. Toronto’s front office is looking to whittle down that number before February arrives. Isiah Cage is a key figure on the offensive line back in the fold, donning Double Blue again.

BOATMEN RE-SIGN OL ISIAH CAGE
TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today the team has re-signed American OL Isiah Cage.
Cage, 30, started ten games at left tackle last season for the Argos as well as the Eastern Final. The 6’5, 313lb lineman helped anchor an offensive line that allowed the least amount of quarterback sacks in the CFL (19). The Boatmen’s longest-tenured Argo, joining the team in May of 2018, has played in 24 games over his five seasons with the team. Cage attended the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire from 2013-2016, where he earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honours three times.
