European League of Football (ELF) Offseason Update: Istanbul Rams Find Home Stadium & Player Signings

Istanbul Rams Announce Home Stadium

This Istanbul Rams will call Maltepe Hasan Polat Stadium their home for the 2022 season. The stadium originally opened in 1985 and has a capacity of 5,000 fans.

Players Signed/Re-Signed

  • Vienna Vikings – OL – Matthias Stockamp
  • Cologne Centurions – RB – Tre King
  • Barcelona Dragons – LB – Max Nacewicz
  • Hamburg Sea Devils – OL – David Weinstock
  • Swarco Raiders Tirol – DL – Derrick Brumfield

The Vienna Vikings have signed offensive lineman Matthias Stockamp for the 2022 season.

Stockamp commented on his recent signing, stating,

“I can’t wait to compete in practice and in games with some of the best football players in all of Europe. Challenge myself and grow not only as an individual but also as a team. And the goal is definitely the championship.”

The Cologne Centurions have signed former Texas Tech running back Tre King for the 2022 season.

Tre King appears to be the Centurion’s replacement for last year’s ELF MVP, Madre London. King rushed for over 600 yards and 5 touchdowns in his junior season with the Red Raiders. Unfortunately, he missed his senior season after suffering a knee injury and didn’t get a chance to make it to the next level.

King commented on his signing, stating,

“It’s a great opportunity for me to do special things. To present myself as a professional/elite player and also to get the chance to work with great coaches and teammates. This is exactly the athletic environment I need.”
