PR: The ELF on Inaugural Season Thus Far, and Championship Game

Seven matchdays have been played in the inaugural season of the European League of Football.

The race for the playoff places has not yet been decided. Fans are already eagerly awaiting the finals:

For the Championship Game of the new continental league on September 26, 2021 at the MERKUR SPIEL- ARENA in Düsseldorf, more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold in advance.

“This is a remarkable number that we are very pleased about. Although it is far from certain which teams will play in the Championship Game, the interest is enormous. What is clear that we can expect a sporting highlight, but also a happening for the whole family. We are working on a highly attractive supporting program. We will be able to announce more about this in the coming weeks.”

ELF CEO Zeljko Karajica

The CEO of the European League of Football and his fellow campaigners are in regular exchange with the operating company of the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. The currently valid Regulation stipulates that 18,000 spectators may be present at the final.

“The event will be organized by all involved parties with the utmost care and under observation of the current Corona situation. Various scenarios are being drafted regarding spectator capacity. We can only recommend all football fans to secure tickets in time.”

The co-founder of the European League of Football is satisfied with the season so far.

“Of course, not everything went totally perfectly all the time. But when you consider that we were in in the middle of a pandemic with all the restrictions and still have to deal with it, expectations were even exceeded in parts. The franchises deliver good sport and the league is very well received.”

The numbers bear this out: the European League of Football’s content on YouTube has been viewed almost 1.5 million times, the Instagram account already has more than 75,000 subscribers, the Facebook account reaches almost 25,000 people and nearly 12,000 followers follow the league’s Twitter channel.

“All this shows that in such a short time, the European League of Football has reached the hearts of football followers.”

A classification that Commissioner Patrick Esume fully shares.

“We set ourselves ambitious goals and were convinced that we would be able to achieve them. When something new begins there are always critics and skeptics, which we are happy to face, because we are always open to to any goal-oriented dialog. But the masses are having a lot of fun with the European League of Football – and that means
a huge motivation for us to make the product even better.”

Commissioner Patrick Esume

With the fact that more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the championship game on September 26 in the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA has “Coach” Esume thrilled:

“I can’t wait to see the finals in Düsseldorf I’m excited to see who makes it there. The teams are all competitive and capable of improving as the season progresses. When you consider that the preparation was quite short, the games are at a high level.”

The league has more than loved up to the hype, and we at CFL NewsHub look forward to the rest of the season.
