The Huskies struggled against the run last week allowing 258 yards on an average of 9.2 yards per rush from their opponent as Matthew Peterson had a big game for Alberta.

Calgary Dinos (0-3): The Calgary Dinos showed a lot to like in their game last week despite losing 16-23. Their tackling looked a lot better in their most recent game after there was a higher frequency of missed tackles in the week before. The Dinos’ offense was more efficient as well generating 351 yards of net offense.

Dinos to Watch

QB Xavier Vaillancourt

Vaillancourt completed 19 of his 33 passes last week for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception on his first start of the season. He made some good plays such as a 12-yard pass in the face of a blitz on 2nd and long or hitting Gobb Deng in stride for a 74-yard touchdown. The interception was thrown to avoid a sack and there was also an unforced fumble on a scramble.

RB Nick Sua

Sua looked pretty good last week rushing 17 times for 77 yards. He even looked good on a loss breaking a tackle in the backfield on a play that resulted in a 2-yard loss.

WR Gobb Deng

Deng led the team in receiving yards with 91 on 3 catches. He had a 74-yard touchdown in which he burned his man and got open downfield.

DB Chris Mushenza

Mushenza had 2 run stops and 3 shared run stops last week as well as a QB hurry and a QB hit.

Prediction

The Dinos have shown some progress this season and are a young team but Saskatchewan is more developed and is a contender right now. I predict Saskatchewan to win 27-17.
