Hot teams, a tight spread, and an over/under of 60 — this one has shootout written all over it. Toronto comes in riding back-to-back wins, most recently gutting out a 40-34 decision over Saskatchewan in Week 4. Calgary snapped a two-game skid of their own last week, torching BC 41-33 to get back to .500 territory. Both offenses have been lighting up the scoreboard all season — the Argos have gone over in all three of their games, and the Stampeders haven't hit the under once. At 2-1 vs. 1-2, Toronto has the edge in the standings, but McMahon Stadium is a tough place to win and Calgary is 1-1-1 ATS on the year.

Chad Kelly has been one of the most productive — and feast-or-famine — quarterbacks in the league this season. He's thrown for 1,190 yards and 9 touchdowns, but also has 6 interceptions on the year. Calgary's secondary is already banged up heading into this one, which could mean Kelly has room to operate. On the other side, Dedrick Mills has been Calgary's workhorse out of the backfield, carrying the ball 45 times for 273 yards. If the Stamps can establish the run and keep Kelly on the sideline, they've got a real shot at this.

Players to Watch:

  • Chad Kelly (Toronto, QB) — 9 TDs and 1,190 yards through three games, but 6 picks make him a boom-or-bust watch; Calgary's secondary depth issues could bring out his best.
  • Dedrick Mills (Calgary, RB) — 273 yards on 45 carries is the engine of this Calgary offense; if he can grind down Toronto's front, the Stamps control the clock.
  • Kevin Mital (Toronto, WR) — 17 catches for 325 yards and a TD; Kelly's go-to target and a real threat against a Calgary secondary missing key pieces.

Injury Watch:

  • Reggie Begelton (Calgary, WR) — Out (knee); a big loss for the Stamps' passing game.
  • Dakoda Shepley (Toronto, OL) — Transferred to six-game injury list; protection in front of Kelly takes a hit.
  • Jaydon Grant (Calgary, DB) — Transferred to single-game injury list; secondary depth already thin.
  • R.J. Moten (Calgary, LB) — Transferred to reserve roster; Calgary's linebacker corps taking on water.
  • Alexander Teubner (Toronto, DB) — Transferred to six-game injury list; secondary depth worth monitoring.
  • Eric Rascoe (Calgary, LB) — Out (back); single-game injury extended heading into Thursday.

Pick: Toronto 35-32. Kelly's arm — and Calgary's mounting injury problems on defense — give the Argos the edge on the road, and both teams going over fits the season trend perfectly.

Quick Hits

  • Calgary added receiver Ajou Ajou to the roster but he's currently serving a league suspension — one to watch for when he's eligible to play.
  • Reggie Begelton's knee injury is the biggest storyline for Calgary's offense; losing your top receiver heading into a must-win home game is a rough break for the Stamps.
  • Fantasy tip: Kevin Mital is a must-start in CFL fantasy this week — Calgary's depleted secondary and Kelly's hot stretch make him a high-upside play on Thursday night.
  • Samuel Hicks is quietly one of the better rushing backs in the East at 209 yards on 32 carries — Toronto's two-headed attack on the ground gives them a dimension Calgary will need to account for.
