The Edmonton Elks want to finish the season positively as they face the Toronto Argonauts.

Finish strong

The Elks are coming off a season sweep over the Calgary Stampeders last week. RB Justin Rankin was the major contributor for the Elks with 140 rushing yards on ten carries. On defence, LB Derrick Moncrief was the key figure in the win, with a pair of sacks and six tackles.

QB Tre Ford had a tough outing stats-wise, as he went 23-for-29 and threw for 206 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Heading into the final week of the regular season, Edmonton is still on elite level in offence. The Elks are top in the league in offensive touchdowns (52) and second in total offence (379.1), points scored (27.8), and rushing offence (123.8).

Toronto is potent in both sides of the ball

Like Edmonton, Toronto has been excellent on the offensive side of the ball. The Argos are ranked number one in league scoring (28.5) and rushing (123.9). However, they are also strong defensively, leading the league in rushing defence (74.8), but in the top five in all major categories.

The Elks unveiled their nominees for the CFL awards. Eugene Lewis gets the nod for Most Outstanding Player, Nyles Morgan (Outstanding Defensive Player), Martez Ivey (Outstanding Lineman), Jake Julien (Outstanding Special Teams), Nick Anderson (Outstanding Rookie), and Kurleigh Gittens Jr. (Outstanding Canadian).
