Tiger-Cats WR Ternowski and Mitchell Stay in Hamilton

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are evaluating their roster following their East Final loss that ended the 2025 season. This week, they re-signed LS Gordon Whyte, WR Moochie Dixon, and added defensive tackle Branson Deen, among other signings for 2026. They also re-signed National wide receiver Tyler Ternowski and American wide receiver Myron Mitchell.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats first announced the return of Ternowski and Mitchell on their X account, followed by a press release posted on the team’s website.

National wide receiver Tyler Ternowski has played for the Tiger-Cats since 2021. During that time, Ternowski has played in 63 games and has made an impact as a dynamic special teams player for Hamilton. In addition, he has caught 39 passes for 465 yards and 2 touchdowns during his CFL career, but in 2025, he played in 16 games and caught 11 passes for 119 yards and 1 touchdown. While Ternowski contributes to the Tiger-Cats in several different ways on the field, he also gives Hamilton flexibility with their offensive lineup by helping them manage the ratio rule.

American wide receiver Myron Mitchell only spent a short time on the Tiger-Cats practice roster during the 2nd half of the CFL season. But the Tiger-Cats have seen enough value in Mitchell to bring him back in 2026 to continue evaluating him and see if he can play an active role for Hamilton. In 2024, Mitchell spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers but played only four games that season.

Prior to joining the CFL, Mitchell played for the Birmingham Stallions in the USFL in 2023, appearing in 9 games. During that time, Mitchell caught 15 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. In 2021 and 2022, Mitchell spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, but he only played in one game. Mitchell played college football at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2019 until 2020. While playing for the Blazers, Mitchell played in 23 games, catching 63 passes for 990 yards and seven touchdowns.
