Ottawa scored 27 unanswered points to beat Montreal 27-3 in the final week of CFL preseason.

The Ottawa RedBlacks held the Montreal Alouettes to one field goal at TD Place Stadium and scored four touchdowns. Dru Brown threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter. Marcus Barnes returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The game was a Year 2026 CFL preseason matchup in Week 3, the final preseason week before the regular season.

How It Happened

Neither team scored in the first quarter. Montreal moved into Ottawa territory on its second drive but Shakur Brown intercepted Anthony Brown at the Ottawa 3.

Montreal scored first in the second quarter. Michael Horvat made a 20-yard field goal to cap a 12-play, 62-yard drive for a 3-0 lead. Ottawa answered with two touchdowns. Dru Brown threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Sam Schnee, and Brett Lauther's convert made it 7-3. Brown then threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Kalil Pimpleton, and Lauther's convert pushed the lead to 14-3 at halftime.

Ottawa added to its lead in the third quarter. Rory Starkey ran 5 yards for a touchdown to finish a five-play, 63-yard drive. The convert failed, leaving the score 20-3.

Ottawa scored again in the fourth quarter. Marcus Barnes intercepted a James Morgan pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown. The convert failed, making it 26-3. James Burnip later missed a 46-yard field goal, and Ottawa recovered for a single point to set the final score at 27-3.
