CFL Week 4 Fantasy Football: DraftKings, GameZone, 110Yards: Picks, Advice, Lineups, Waiver Claims, Sleepers

Week 4 is one of the 3 weeks of the season in which there are only 3 games this week. Fewer players to choose from so choose wisely.

Great deals on players you can pick for your team this week in CFL weekly Fantasy games at Game Zone or Draft Kings as well as players who might be available in your head-to-head fantasy league at 110Yards.  Save some salary so you can afford some of the high-priced superstars.

Weekly Fantasy:

Game Zone is CFL’s new fantasy game on their website which is similar to Draft Kings and is a weekly fantasy game where you choose your team each week and have to stay within a certain salary cap. GameZone is a budget of $70K and Draft Kings is $50K.

Head-to-Head Fantasy:

110Yards is a more traditional fantasy football service where managers draft their teams and keep their players all season. 110yards.ca can also accommodate a league starting midway through the season. 110yards waivers this week will begin processing Wednesday around 7 AM ET (4 AM PT) so make sure to get your claims submitted.

A note on sports betting:

Draft Kings is a place where people will play for money. I want to encourage everyone to play responsibly if you do play at Draft Kings. I am personally of the belief that such activities are best enjoyed around dollar amounts you would spend at a fast food outing. When people place large bets on sports gambling, they are risking the quality of their livelihood and their ability to provide for their family. If you are struggling with gambling addiction there are many services in place to help you based on where you live.

CFL Game Zone week 4 is not yet begun, will update prices when it opens. They seem to follow similar pricing patterns as Draft Kings so these players will likely be of good value for GameZone as well. I will add additional steals on players if I see any at that time as well.

Cody Fajardo, Montreal Alouettes, QB

Draft Kings Price: $9.4K

Game Zone Price: (Week 4 not open yet)

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 83%

So far this season Fajardo has the highest QBR and is right up there among league leaders in most passing yards per game despite attempting the fewest passes per game. Playing against Winnipeg’s high-powered offense he could potentially be throwing the ball more. He has only the 5th highest price on draft kings. He’s also a QB who has had many terrific rushing performances which as you know is very valuable in fantasy.

Tyrie Adams, Ottawa Redblacks, QB

Draft Kings Price: $8.9K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: >2%

Tyrie Adams is getting his first start of the year. He came into the game in relief of Nick Arbuckle and struggled against Calgary completing just 9 of his 17 passes for 129 yards and an interception. He did show his mobility adding 19 rushing yards on 4 attempts. He’s had an entire bye week to prepare for the game against Edmonton. He showed he can be extremely efficient this past preseason completing 11 of 15 passes for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns, a performance that demanded he be named to my Preseason All-Star Team.

Demontre Tuggle, Ottawa Redblacks, RB

Draft Kings Price: $6.6K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 2%

Demontre Tuggle started in week 2 due to the injury to Devonte Williams. Williams did not participate in practice on Monday. If Williams is unable to play again this week then Tuggle will likely get the start. In week 2 Tuggle had 4 carries for 20 yards. He also had 4 receptions for 39 yards. If Ottawa commits to establishing the run and Tuggle is the starting running back he would be a very high-value pick-up.

Johnny Augustine, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, RB

Draft Kings Price: $4.5K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 19%

Brady Oliviera last week was doubtful but still played. If Oliviera is unable to play this week then look to Augustine. He is a capable back on a team that loves to run the ball.

Austin Mack, Montreal Alouettes, WR

Draft Kings Price: $4.3K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 62%

2 GP, 9 Receptions, 201 Yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Mack has the most receiving yards per game in the CFL. The rookie out of Ohio State has been a sensation and not everyone has caught onto his value yet.

Alexander Hollins, BC Lions, WR

Draft Kings Price: $4.3K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 62%

3 GP, 19 Receptions, 221 Yards, and 1 touchdown.

Out of the receivers on the 6 teams playing this week Hollins has the 5th highest fantasy points per game. With Keon Hatcher on the 6-game injured list, Hollins has been stepping into a very big role for BC these first 3 games and currently leads the entire league in receptions.

Steven Dunbar Jr., Edmonton Elks, WR

Draft Kings Price: $4.5K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 70%

3 GP, 14 Receptions, 151 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Is second in Edmonton in yards and first in targets so far. While there is uncertainty in Edmonton’s pass game, Dunbar has been a bright spot in Edmonton’s offense so far.

Quan Bray, Ottawa Redblacks, WR

*Update: Quan Bray was been released on 6/29/2023 due to off-field allegations.*

Draft Kings Price: $2.9K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 38%

2 GP, 7 Receptions, 153 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Quan Bray is the leader in receiving yards for Ottawa so far. Tyrie Adams will be starting at quarterback for Ottawa in their game Friday against Edmonton. Bray is priced low in weekly fantasy and available in many head-to-head fantasy leagues.

Dejon Brissett, Toronto Argonauts, WR

Draft Kings Price: $3K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: >2%

It’s hard to say who Chad Kelly’s favorite target is in Toronto. Dejon Brissett had the most targets on the team with 8 in the week 3 win against Edmonton, however, he had only 1 target in week 2 for Toronto’s season opener. Targets are a great indicator of fantasy value. Brissett could be a productive low-priced player, but proceed at your own risk as Toronto receivers have had pretty drastic changes in their target share between their first and second games.

Damonte Coxie, Toronto Argonauts, WR

Draft Kings Price: $4.2K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 60%

2 GP, 7 Receptions, 164 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Coxie had a very productive game in Toronto’s first game catching 6 passes for 131 yards. In their next game, he only received 1 target for 33 yards. Looking at his target share he is somewhat of a risk to pick up but also capable of having a big game and is priced low in weekly fantasy and available in many head-to-head fantasy leagues.

Justin McInnis, BC Lions, WR

Draft Kings Price: $3.8K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 28%

3 GP, 10 Receptions, 150 Yards, and 1 touchdown.

McInnis has had some productive games due to injuries to other receivers. If Dominique Rhymes is unable to play again this week then he will be a good addition to your team. Last week he had 4 catches on 8 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Carlton Agudosi, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, WR

Draft Kings Price: $3.9K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 28%

3 GP, 9 Receptions, 120 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Before his injury last season, he had 2 touchdowns in 2 games. Despite a tough game for Winnipeg’s quarterback Zach Collaros, Agudosi was tied for the team lead in targets with 7 and led the team in receiving yards as he caught 5 passes for 61 yards.

Drew Wolitarsky, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, WR

Draft Kings Price: $4.2K

Game Zone Price: $K

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 66%

3 GP, 11 Receptions, 158 Yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Wolitarksy has been receiving a  steady amount of targets so far this season. In week 3 he caught 3 of his 6 targets for 35 yards.

Bonus Round: A thought on 3 additional Montreal receivers.

There are 3 receivers who have started for Montreal’s first 2 games but have not had a high amount of fantasy production. This is in part due to Montreal attempting the fewest passes per game. Montreal may have to pass more to keep up with Winnipeg’s high-powered offense this week. It’s very possible for any of these 3 to see a spike in their targets and have a productive game and they are low-priced in weekly fantasy games

Cole Spieker: DK Price: $4.3K, GameZone Price: $K, 110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 15%

2 GP, 2 Receptions, 36 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Keshunn Abram:  DK Price: $2.5K, GameZone Price: $K, 110 Yards Ownership Percentage: >2%

2 GP, 3 Receptions, 32 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Hergy Mayala:  DK Price: $2.5K, GameZone Price: $K, 110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 17%

2 GP, 3 Receptions, 30 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

110Yards Bye Week Fill-Ins

If you’re starter at QB or RB is on the bye week some of the following players may be available in your league.

Tyrie Adams, Ottawa, QB: >2% owned

Kevin Brown, Edmonton, RB: 57%

A.J. Oullette, Toronto, RB: 49%

It’s not yet clear who is starting at quarterback for Edmonton. If you are in a 6 team league and without a QB this week and no one else is available then wait to see who Edmonton is starting and pick up that player for this week.

110 Yards Pick-Ups for Next Week

Calgary, Saskatchewan, and Hamilton are all on a bye this week. That means there are valuable players that your opponents may not be thinking about adding to the waiver wire that you could take advantage of.

Jeremiah Masoli, Ottawa Redblacks, QB

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 23%

He is still recovering from the season-ending injury last year. If your team is having quarterback sorrows he might be worth picking up to stash on your IR until he is playing again.

Dedrick Mills, Calgary Stampeders, RB

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 55%

Somehow Dedrick Mills is only owned in 55% of leagues. He’s the current starter for Calgary due to the injury to Ka’Deem Carey. Last year he was 4th in points per game among running backs and 2 of his 6 games he played as a backup last season. So far this season he is 3rd in fantasy points per game.

Tre Odoms-Dukes, Calgary Stampeders, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 70%

3 GP, 14 Receptions, 192 Yards, and 1 touchdown.

Malik Henry is out for the season, and Reggie Begelton is on the 6-game injured list. Odoms-Dukes went from the WR3 to the WR1. If he is available in your league he is a must add.

Cole Tucker, Calgary Stampeders, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 11%

1 GP, 5 Receptions, 74 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

He had a productive game last week for Calgary. I would expect more of the same with Calgary needing receivers to fill a bigger role.

Luther Hakunavhunhu, Calgary Stampeders, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 11%

3 GP, 5 Receptions, 74 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

Another Calgary receiver with an opportunity for a bigger role in week 5.

Tevin Jones, Saskatchewan Roughriders, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 51%

2 GP, 14 Receptions, 196 Yards, and 1 touchdown.

Tevin Jones has emerged in a big way for Saskatchewan. Despite playing in only 2 of the 3 games for Saskatchewan, Jones is 2nd in receiving yards. He has also been the most targeted receiver for the team in both of his games.

Shawn Bane, JR, Saskatchewan Roughriders, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 70%

3 GP, 15 Receptions, 245 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

He’s third in the league in receiving yards and tied for 4th in receptions.

Terry Godwin, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, WR

110 Yards Ownership Percentage: 9%

3 GP, 12 Receptions, 98 Yards, and 0 touchdowns.

He has been the third most popular target in Hamilton through 3 games. He is third in receiving yards and receptions for Hamilton. Matthew Shiltz is going to be the starter at quarterback due to the injury to Bo Levi Mitchell. In Shiltz’s first start of the season, Godwin caught 6 of his 10 targets for 57 yards.

Week 4 Matches:

Saturday, July 1, 7 PM ET, 4 PM PT: Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Montreal Alouettes

DraftKings is a great site for fantasy football. I like GameZone for their lineup advice. 110Yards is a great site for waiver claims.
