The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have shown a commitment to retaining an offensive line that was critical to their success in 2025. That commitment started with the Tiger-Cats re-signing veteran OL Brandon Revenberg and continued with their decision to add former Winnipeg Blue Bombers center Chris Kolankowski. Despite those decisions, the Tiger-Cats are continuing to lock down the best offensive line that they can before the official start of freeagency.
The most recent investment the Tiger-Cats have made in their offensive line is the re-signing of Jakub Szott, according to a press release from Hamilton.

National offensive lineman Jakub Szott has bounced around the CFL since 2021. In 2021, the Ottawa Redblacks signed Szott, who played in 14 games. In 2023, Szott signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and played in 3 games before being released. The Tiger-Cats were the next team to sign Szott in 2023, and he played in 7 games for Hamilton.
While Szott played his first stint with the Tiger-Cats in 2023, Hamilton chose to let Szott go back into the free agent market. Szott was then signed by the Edmonton Elks in 2024, and he played in 7 games for the Team. In 2025, the Tiger-Cats brought Szott back to Hamilton, and he played in 14 games. Szott played well enough last season to get the opportunity to spend another season with Hamilton for 2026.
Tiger-Cats Sign Controversial WR Trejan Bridges
In addition to re-signing Szott, the Tiger-Cats also made the decision to sign American wide receiver Trejan Bridges according to another Hamilton press release.

According to the CFL Transactions list, Trejan Bridges comes to Hamilton from the University of Central Arkansas, but there is more to the story. In 2019, Bridges started his college football career at the University of Oklahoma, and during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Bridges played in 15 games. During those 15 games, he caught 9 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately for Bridges, his career at Oklahoma was ended suddenly due to a series of reports involving assault, robbery, and gun issues. When Lincoln Riley, the Sooners’ head coach at the time, was asked about Bridges, he said Bridges was no longer with the team. From there, Bridges seemed to fall off the map of college football, but the CFL reports that he played at Central Arkansas.
So, in short, the last time Bridges played college football appears to have been in 2020. While he appears on scouting websites with Central Arkansas listed as his college, there are no published stats for any games he played for the Bears. While there is no guarantee that Bridges brings trouble to the Tiger-Cats, they are definitely taking a chance by giving him a chance to redeem himself in the CFL.
