Winnipeg gutted out a two-point win in Calgary, surviving a massive Calgary second-quarter explosion to open 2026 1-0.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers escaped McMahon Stadium with a 30–28 win over the Calgary Stampeders in a Week 1 slugfest that came down to the wire. Calgary rallied with 21 second-quarter points to flip the game on its head, but Winnipeg's defense clamped down over the final two quarters to hold on. The Bombers move to 1-0 while the Stamps fall to 0-1 to open the 2026 season.
