Places to Play:

110 Yards: 110yards.ca is your traditional fantasy football website where you play in a season-long league with your friends and players are drafted onto teams prior to the start of the season. They do support creating a league midway through the CFL season.

CFL Game Zone: gamezone.cfl.ca is the CFL’s site which includes weekly fantasy.

Draft Kings: Weekly and Daily fantasy games typically involving real money. Please be very responsible if you play here.

Quarterbacks:

Vernon Adams Jr. (BC) QB at HAM

Draft Kings Price: $13.3K

Game Zone Price: $13.8K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 81%

VA has 300+ passing yards in 8 of his last 9 games. While his price in Draft Kings is higher than any other QB he is probably the safest choice this week. While Hamilton had very high coverage grades last against Saskatchewan, BC’s passing offense has seemed unstoppable lately.

Cody Fajardo (MTL) QB  at EDM

Draft Kings Price: $8.9K

Game Zone Price: $13.3K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 72%

I am beginning to feel like Linus in the Charlie Brown Halloween special as he stays up all night waiting for the Great Pumpkin to visit (who never does). I have been waiting all year for Cody Fajardo to activate what I refer to as “Big Fajita Mode”. Fajardo had a down year last year playing through injuries all season long. The season before he was averaging 228 passing yards per game and was dangerous with his legs averaging 36 rushing yards per game and had 4 rushing touchdowns. This season he has had an alright yardage average at 234 yards but only has 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 15 games. I am going to remain in the pumpkin patch for the Big Fajita to arrive and return to his 2019 form that earned him being named to the CFL All-Star Team and say roll Fajardo. Last week Fajardo had 272 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception, and 27 rushing yards.

Runningbacks:

I am shying away from James Butler this week due to him playing BC. BC has had some great run-stopping games this season although the last time they played Butler he had a strong performance. I think BC’s defense will be out to remind their old teammate how they can play this week.

I am also shying away from A.J. Ouellette for Toronto due to the fact that we simply do not know what his usage will look like with the East already locked up.

JaQuan Hardy is an intriguing player who i starting in place of an injured Taquan Mizzell for BC tonight in his first CFL game. I would suggest him as a low-priced option but he is not available on Draft Kings. He is available on gamezone.cfl.ca for only 2.5K.

William Stanback (MTL) at EDM

Edit 10/3/2023: William Stanback is not playing this week despite being a full participant in practice on Thursday.

Draft Kings Price: $7.5K

Game Zone Price: $10K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 60%

Edmonton has allowed 5.8 yards per rush attempt so far this season. Stanback missed last week due to injury but was a full participant in practice this week. He has averaged 5.4 yards per attempt this season.

Jamal Morrow (SSK) vs CGY

Draft Kings Price: $9K

Game Zone Price: $9.5K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 79%

Currently, Calgary has allowed the most yards per attempt at 5.9. Morrow does not have a high average this season at 4.6 but he has around 40 fantasy points from his 2 meetings with Calgary this season.

Wide Receivers:

Many highest-priced receivers on Draft Kings (such as Austin Mack, Keon Hatcher, Dalton Schoen, and Tim White) are great selections. Let’s look at some other players who could have big returns for low cost.

Tyson Philpot (MTL) at OTT

Draft Kings Price: $6K

Game Zone Price: $7K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 50%

Philpot had 6 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown last week. He has seen his usage increase over the last few games.

Tyler Snead (MTL) at OTT

Draft Kings Price: $8.1K

Game Zone Price: $7K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 56%

Snead was the most-targeted Alouette receiver last week catching 7 of his 9 targets for 78 yards.

Lucky Whitehead (BC) at HAM

Draft Kings Price: $8.2K

Game Zone Price: $7.5K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 66%

Whitehead, Rhymes, Hollins, and Hatcher seem to take turns having monster games for the Lions this season and Whitehead is the lowest-priced among those 4.

Damonte Coxie (TOR) vs OTT

Draft Kings Price: $7.9K

Game Zone Price: $9.3K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 65%

Coxie has a favorable matchup against Ottawa and Toronto is without Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and Cam Phillips in this matchup so it could mean an increase in Coxie’s targets.

David Ungerer III (TOR) vs OTT

Draft Kings Price: $4.7K

Game Zone Price: $6.8K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 15%

Ungerer is an affordable option and has the opportunity for more targets with injuries in Toronto’s receiving room.

Kian Schaffer-Baker (SSK) at Calgary

Draft Kings Price: $7.6K

Game Zone Price: $5.8K

110Yards Ownership Percentage: 69%

He only had 2 receptions for 29 yards but the week before he had 9 catches for 104 yards. I can feel it in my bones he’s due for a good game in Calgary.
