CFL On TSN Week 15 TV Ratings

Only one week remains in the CFL regular season. The TV ratings from Week 15 are in from this past weekend’s CFL games on TSN. The numbers were slightly down from last week.

In Week 14 on TSN, CFL games averaged 490,500 viewers. Up from the week before where the telecasts averaged 429,000 viewers.

In Week 15 on TSN, the CFL’s four games on TSN averaged 478,750 viewers. Slightly down from last week. The two games that did have significant playoff ramifications, (TOR/HAM & SSK/EDM) both scored really well in the numbers. (559k/638k). However, the Calgary/BC and MON/WIN games had lower viewership totals.

For the 2021 season, the CFL has averaged roughly 500,000 viewers per TSN telecast.

CFL On TSN Week 15 TV Ratings

  • Friday’s 11/12 East division showdown with first place on the line between the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats averaged 559,000 viewers. One of the highest viewership totals of the season for both Toronto and Hamilton.
  • The second half of the doublehader on Friday with the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions averaged 360,000 viewers.
  • Saturday’s early afternoon game between the Montreal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers averaged 358,000 viewers.
  • The Week 15 weekend finale featuring the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Elks, topped the week, averaging 638,000 viewers.

With the CFL playoffs on the horizon, viewership totals should rise. However, much of the drama surrounding the CFL for playoff seeding has dissipated for the final week of the regular season. The defending CFL champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Toronto Argonauts have both sewn up their respective divisions. (West/East)

The only genuine drama left this coming week is who will host the East semifinal on Sunday, Nov 28, between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes. The matchup in the West semifinal has been set, with Saskatchewan hosting Calgary on 11/28.

Week 16 starts early this week with the Toronto Argonauts taking on the Edmonton Elks at BMO Field on Tuesday night. The Elks because of an early-season cancelation due to COVID have the unenviable task of playing three games in less than a week’s time.
