CFL Power Rankings Week 20

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7-10) @ Ottawa RedBlacks (8-8-1)

Friday, October 25, 7:00 PM Eastern (6:00 PM CT), Ottawa, ON, TSN (Canada), CFL+ (USA, Global)

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have won 5 of their last 6 games however they will finish half a game out of the playoffs with a win this week. The Tiger-Cats will want to show their worth Friday night despite not having anything to gain with it being their final game regardless. Bo Levi Mitchell leads the league with 5,026 passing yards and 31 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. He is the only quarterback to have been teamed his team’s most outstanding player this season.

The Ottawa RedBlacks will look to sharpen their chainsaws with a win otherwise they will enter the playoffs riding a 5-game losing streak. Dru Brown has completed 67.1% of his passes this season for 3,514 yards and 15 touchdowns with 9 interceptions over 14 starts.

Writer’s Pick: 71% Hamilton

Toronto Argonauts (10-7) @ Edmonton Elks (6-11)

Friday, October 25, 9:30 PM Eastern (7:30 PM MT), Edmonton, AB, TSN (Canada), CFL+ (USA, Global)

The Toronto Argonauts are row into Edmonton as one of the hottest teams in the league having won their last 3 games and 4 of their last 5. All 4 of the Argos’ recent victories were against playoff teams with wins against Ottawa, Winnipeg, Montreal, and BC. Cameron Dukes will start at quarterback as the team rests Chad Kelly for the playoffs. Dukes has completed 71.9% of his passes for 1,404 yards and 7 touchdowns with 6 interceptions.

The Edmonton Elks are another team looking to end their season on a high note. Tre Ford will start at quarterback in his 5th start this season. He has completed 73.9% of his passes for 812 yards and 7 touchdowns with 5 interceptions so far this season.

Writer’s Pick: 71% Toronto

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-7) @ Montreal Alouettes (12-4-1)

Saturday, October 26, 3:00 PM Eastern (2:00 PM CT), Montreal, QC, CTV, RDS (Canada), CFL+ (USA, Global)

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were recently on an 8-game winning streak until it was broken in a close loss to Toronto 11-14 in their most recent game. The Bombers will clinch first in the West with a win. Brady Oliveira leads the league in rushing after rushing 228 times for 1,318 yards and 3 touchdowns, 5.8 yards per carry.

Montreal will presumably rest Cody Fajardo in this contest given they already have 1st place locked up. We will likely see more of Davis Alexander who has 4 starts this season and has completed 69% of his passes for 1,247 yards and 6 touchdowns with 2 interceptions.

Winnipeg becomes the favorite in this contest with Montreal expected to be resting starters while Winnipeg looks to secure home-field advantage.

Writer’s Pick: 100% Winnipeg

Calgary Stampeders (4-12-1) @ Saskatchewan Roughriders

Saturday, October 26, 7:00 PM Eastern (6:00 PM CT), Regina, SK, TSN (Canada), CFL+ (USA, Global)

The 2nd half of the Stampeders season has been a disappointing one as the team has gone winless in their last 9 with 1 time having occurred over that span. The team is in desperate need of positivity as they close out their season. WR Reggie Begelton has had a strong year despite the team’s struggles as he is 4th in the league in receiving after catching 89 passes for 1,112 yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Saskatchewa Roughriders are getting hot at the right time and are currently on a 4 game-win streak. Their previous game saw them beatdown the BC Lions 39-8. The Riders had a 7-game winless streak earlier in the season but only lost by more than 1 score in 1 of those games. Trevor Harris has been highly efficient this season completing 72.4% of his passes for 3,264 yards and 20 touchdowns with 9 interceptions over 11 games. The Riders will finish first in the West if they win this week and the Bombers lose.

Writer’s Pick: 86% Saskatchewan
