BC Lions Supportive of COVID Policies

The BC Lions released a statement of support for the new vaccine passport policies, and new mask mandates.

Lions’ president Rock LeLacheur said on Tuesday.

“We are very supportive of the announcement that vaccine passports will be required to attend sporting events, and that mask mandates have returned. Many of our season ticket holders have already expressed their support of this and we look forward to welcoming all of our fans to our next home game on September 11th.”

BC plays at Ottawa on 8/28, and has a bye in Week 5 before their 9/11 home game.

The move comes after multiple players on the Edmonton Elks tested positive for COVID-19, and the country – not just the CFL – decided changes were due.

It has also been reported by TSN’s Dave Naylor that the league’s charter flights may not be exempt from regulations:

The Lions have also reported 0 positive cases since their last game.
